EastSide Arts is seeking four socially engaged artists to take part in Creative Children - Artists in Residence. This is a pilot programme exploring how artists and early years practitioners can work together to strengthen creativity within everyday practice.

Artists will work collaboratively with practitioners and young children over a ten-week period to explore ideas, experiment with creative approaches, and respond to the unique context of each setting. The focus is on the development of enduring creative methods rather than on delivering activities.

We welcome artists working across a wide range of artforms. The creative approach should be responsive to the developmental stage of the children in the setting. The programme is based on play, curiosity, collaboration and shared learning.

Artist Fee £3,960

A material budget up to £500 is provided separately

Application Deadline Tuesday 22nd September @ 5pm.

Creative Children - Artists in Residence is part of a wider Paul Hamlyn Foundation funded project called Creative Citizens, which aims to broaden access to arts and creativity in East Belfast.

Up at Stormont , with our friends from Rural Housing Association , Belfast Exposed Photography Gallery, to celebrate the launch of Capturing Movement through Photography and Cultural Exchange. Speeches from NIFHA and from our own Josh Schultz and our colleague Deirdre Boyle-Robb from BX. Patricia Lavery from Arts Council of Northern Ireland also in supportive attendance.
What a great rural project - plenty of participants here to celebrate too.

If you live in Belfast, are aged 18-25 with an interest in film and telling stories this film project is for you!

Join Community Arts Partnership and Lamb Films as we embark to tell original stories of Belfast. Whether your interest is in front of the camera or behind the scenes we'll get you "set ready" regardless of background or previous experience. We'll develop an original story together, have a bit of craic with new friends and contribute your perspective to the "Belfast Stories" project.

The first weekly session starts on Monday, September 21st at 6pm at Community Arts Partnership (555 Lisburn Road) so sign up today by following the link in the comments.
