Thank you to the Health Minister for his Carers Week Message. We welcome his commitment to support unpaid Carers in Northern Ireland.

There is much work to do to Build Carer Friendly Communities in Health and Social Care to ensure adequate and appropriate services are in place for Carers and Cared For.

By the end of this carers week. Carers in Northern Ireland will have contributed £112million in unpaid care services at great personal cost. It is vital they get the support they need.

We look forward to continuing to work with you and the Department of Health to reform Social Care services so they meet the needs of carers.

A big thank you to the Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald and Chair of the All Party Group on Carers Linda Dillon MLA for speaking at our event to Build Carer Friendly Workplaces. We also want to thank everyone who attended and contributed to the discussion. We looked at the important measures for carers in the Good Jobs Bill and practical measures that employers can implement now to support carers in the workplace. When carers are supported to remain in the work, everyone wins. Looking forward to continuing the conversation
