Young Lives vs Cancer Northern Ireland Fundraising We’re the charity that helps children and young people and their families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them.

At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. Powered by the kindness of our supporters, we’ll face it all together. Welc

Today we had the honour of welcoming Keith and Gillian, Alex’ Ruddy's parents, back to Amy’s House, alongside their close friends Kristin and Graham.

It was a truly special visit that touched everyone here.

Kristin recently took on the incredible challenge of running the Belfast City Marathon recently in memory of the wonderful Alex , who so sadly passed away in September 2025 at just 20 years old.

Such strength, love, and determination shown in Alex’s name is an incredibly powerful tribute 🌟

We are also deeply grateful to Kristin for her kindness and generosity in donating both a Playstation and a donation of £1870 to Amy’s House.

This thoughtful contribution will help families who stay here spend precious moments together — moments of connection, laughter, and comfort during the hardest of times.

Hearing that Alex loved playing farming games on the Playstation made this gift even more meaningful 💚🚜

It is so special to know that something Alex enjoyed will now bring comfort and smiles to other families. In those quiet moments, his spirit will live on here at Amy’s House.

To Keith and Gillian, and to Kristin and Graham — thank you. Thank you for your strength, your generosity, and for allowing Alex’s memory to continue making a difference in the lives of others.

💫 Alex’s legacy will live on in every smile, every shared moment, and every family supported within these walls. 💫

A huge shoutout to Harry from Green Thumb for choosing to support Young Lives vs Cancer this year! 🎉 We're grateful for his generosity, which was inspired by our incredible volunteer, Valerie, who has dedicated nearly 10 years to our cause. It was a pleasure to give Harry a tour of Amy's House yesterday and showcase the amazing work our Home from Home team does, along with the other vital services our charity provides. Thank you, Harry, for joining us in making a difference! 🌟

Did you know it's ?

This week, we had the privilege of hosting a small celebration at Amy's House Belfast to thank some of the incredible volunteers who help keep the Young Lives vs Cancer service in Northern Ireland running. While we can never fully express how grateful we are, we hope this celebration showed just a little of how much we value everything they do.

🌻 Mike is our long-serving gardener, who has lovingly maintained the flower beds at both houses for many years and even keeps our garden furniture looking its best!

🌟 Eimear has been volunteering with us since she was knee-high! Over the years, she has supported almost every aspect of our work, from housekeeping to cheer stations and everything in between.

📚 Anna is one of our newest volunteers. As a student, she's bringing her skills, enthusiasm and fresh ideas to support the development of our Community Model.

Our volunteers give their time, energy and kindness to support children, young people and families when they need it most. We simply couldn't do what we do without them.

So thank you to Mike, Eimear, Anna, and every volunteer who makes a difference every single day. 💙

We would just like to say a massive thank you to the Ruth and all the Logan family for their incredible fundraising through the Tractor and Truck Run in memory of their son Andrew. £8,760 is an amazing total and an absolute testament to the amazing community support for the Logans. To put this amount into context, it could pay for a family to stay in one of our Home from Homes for 125 nights. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

What an incredible achievement from Jim, who has just completed a 200km challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer — walking 5km a day for 40 days 👏

From start to finish, Jim was supported every step of the way by friends who joined him on his walks, showing the real power of community behind this challenge.

He celebrated his final walk on Saturday with a brilliant coffee morning, bringing people together to mark the occasion.

So far, an outstanding £7,639 has been raised — and donations are still coming in.

Jim, thank you for your unwavering support. We truly couldn’t do this without people like you 💛

What a beautiful morning for our last walk….

We hit the £7000 mark this morning with funds still coming in.

Thank you to all who donated and a special thank you to all the 6am walkers.

All of us at Young Lives vs Cancer NI want to wish the very best of luck to everyone taking on the London Marathon today 👏

A special shoutout to Jamie Stronge, who is running in memory of his daughter Holly.

Holly was a joyful, life-loving young girl who was diagnosed with cancer at aged 19. During her treatment, her family stayed at Amy’s House so they could be close by her side. After Holly sadly passed away just 9 months later, Amy’s House remained a place where they could spend precious time together as a family.

Jamie is taking on this incredible challenge to honour Holly and give back so other families can be supported in the same way.

If you can, please support Jamie here:

🚒 A Massive Thank You, Derry/Londonderry 💜

A huge shout‑out to the amazing firefighters at Northland Road and Crescent Link for organising an incredible charity car wash in support of Young Lives vs Cancer this weekend and raising £3200!
Your hard work, positivity and community spirit were unbelievable — we’re so grateful. And to everyone who stopped by, got their car washed, donated, or even just waved a hello — thank you. Your support helps children and young people with cancer and their families right here in Northern Ireland.
🔥 And they’re not done yet! 50 firefighters are now training for the Derry 10 Miler on 14th March, continuing their mission to raise vital funds.
💜 Come out, cheer them on, and show your support for these incredible firefighters as they go the extra mile (or ten!) for Young Lives vs Cancer.
