Based in Belfast, we are Dundonald Sea Cadets, a youth organisation open to young people aged 10 to 18 years old, regardless of background. We are part of the Sea Cadet Corps, a National organisation with units across the country, with 10 in Northern Ireland. Our cadets get involved in a wide range of activities, a lot of them on the water, but also on land. Besides our meeting night on a Thursday

, there are many weekends and week long events throughout the year, some local, some across the water, and some at sea. Throughout the year our cadets compete in 7 National Competitions against cadets from all over the UK. Our training & activities include: Seamanship, Communications & Information Systems, First Aid, Marine Engineering, Navigation, Catering, Drill & Ceremonial, Physical Training, Adventurous Training & Camping, Meteorology, Aviation, Shooting, Offshore Voyages, Leadership, Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, Vocational Qualification, Music, Piping, Sea Survival, Marine Radio, Swimming, Wind Surfing, Canoeing, Kayaking, Paddleboarding, Rowing, Sailing and Powerboating.... plus new friends, new experiences, new challenges, and fun!

Are you looking to make a real difference in your community while picking up some pretty cool skills yourself?

We’re looking for volunteers to join our team at Dundonald Sea Cadets, and we’d love to have you on board!

Whether you’re a "salty sea dog" or have never even stepped foot on a boat, there is a place for you here. We have a variety of roles available—from instructional staff to administrative and committee support—and no previous experience is necessary.

Sea Cadets isn’t just about having fun on the water (though we do a lot of that!); it’s about giving your child a head start in life. Based on the traditions of the Royal Navy, we help young people develop:
