WHO ARE WE? This page is for the student society at Queen's University Belfast which is titled the Trócaire society. It's main members are students at QUB and other universities in the Belfast area. Our purpose is to raise funds and awareness for the work carried out by Trócaire worldwide. We are always happy to have new members come along and join in our work to support human rights and deve

lopment worldwide. At the end of every academic year we pass on money we have raised during the previous 12 months to Trócaire to aid in their mission. DOES TRÓCAIRE ITSELF RECRUIT VOLUNTEERS? Trócaire recruits volunteers to help with outreach and fundraising work in Ireland, but do not send volunteers from Ireland to work in our programmes overseas. 7% of donations to Trócaire are used to raise funds to carry out this work and the remaining 93% of Trócaire's income goes to their charitable activities. WHAT IS TRÓCAIRE'S CEO PAID? Trócaire is a professional organisation that demands the highest standards from its employees on behalf of the people Trócaire support overseas and on behalf of those who support Trócaire in Ireland. Trócaire's CEO is paid a salary of €125,000 per annum. This equates to approximately 0.2% of the organisation's income. DOES TRÓCAIRE PAY TOPS UPS OR BONUSES? No top ups or bonus payments are made to staff in Trócaire. DOES ANY OF MY DONATION GO TO GOVERNMENTS OVERSEAS? No, none of the donations received by Trócaire go to governments overseas. DO TRÓCAIRE BOARD MEMBERS RECEIVE PAYMENT? No, Trócaire's Board members are volunteers who contribute their expertise free of charge. They serve a maximum of two, three-year terms, to constantly refresh ideas and skills. DOES TRÓCAIRE FUND ABORTION OVERSEAS? No, Trócaire does not fund or provide abortion services. As an agency of the Catholic Church, our work is guided by Catholic Social Teaching. WHO FUNDS TRÓCAIRE'S WORK? Trócaire's work is funded by members of the public in Ireland as well as large institutions. Trócaire's three largest institutional donors are the Irish government, UK government and Caritas. Trócaire accepts grants from institutions to carry out work. However, Trócaire does not accept grants from any insitution whose primary purpose runs contrary to Catholic Social Teaching.
