Let Youth Lead

Let Youth Lead Let Youth Lead is the youth project of Cliftonville Community Regeneration Forum.

We work across the Cliftonville, Cavehill and Antrim Road area of North Belfast. Let Youth Lead are concerned with the education and general welfare of
young people. Our youth work starts where the young people are at and
we encourage, with information and guidance, that young people lead the
way and determine their own level of voluntary engagement and
commitment to the project.

🚨 URGENT APPEAL: Our Youth Services are at Risk – We Need Budget Clarity Now.

We are calling on the Education Minister and all MLAs to provide immediate clarity on the budget position for Youth Services. The sector is facing a critical deadline that threatens support for vulnerable young people across Northern Ireland.

1. The Immediate Threat to 19 Communities There are currently 19 specific areas waiting for the re-release of Youth Service Local Area Based Funding. These funds were intended for release but are now being held back until a budget is confirmed.

The Reality: If the Department of Education does not give the Education Authority approval to re-release these opportunities within this week, we are at serious risk of young people losing access to vital services and communities losing this provision entirely.

2. The Wider Risk: Voluntary & Statutory Services This uncertainty goes beyond just those 19 areas. If the budget allocation is not confirmed immediately, the impact will be catastrophic across the board:

Voluntary Sector: We are at risk of ALL awarded local and regional funding failing to be issued with a Letter of Offer. This effectively freezes the sector, leading to immediate staff dismissals and threatening the stability of core youth work delivery and regional support structures.

EA Youth Service: This also impacts statutory provision. Without a budget, EA cannot commit to essential costs, placing EA staff at risk of statutory dismissal and threatening the stability of core youth work delivery.

Youth Work Alliance has been actively engaging with local youth organisations, MLAs, and the Education Authority to seek clarity and ensure delivery of services.

Our young people cannot pay the price for budgetary delays. We need the Minister to unlock this process immediately.

I just signed this petition. 11,000 people rely on these services for mental health and skills support. We need funding for people, not just capital projects. Will you sign too?

This is a fantastic idea! 💡❤️

Community Consultation - Temporary Sensory Garden at Cliftonpark Avenue

We are inviting residents of Lower Oldpark and Cliftonville to share their views on plans to create a temporary sensory garden and play area at Cliftonpark Avenue. This development will take place within the interface land and does not involve any changes to the existing infrastructure.

The proposed space will offer safe, inclusive, and free sensory play for toddlers and children of all abilities, including mainstream and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) children, and will be open to families from both communities. Alongside the garden, a small pop-up café shed will provide free tea and coffee for parents and local residents.

By increasing positive activity and footfall, we hope to help reduce anti-social behaviour along the interface, support more and improved cross-community events, and create fundraising opportunities for local community groups and organisations.

Have your say and help us shape a positive space for all children in our communities!

📆Date: Monday 8 December 2025
⏰Time: 10 am - 6 pm
