Important Service Update

Due to a significant reduction in our funding (64%), we have had to make some very difficult decisions about how we continue to deliver our services. With immediate effect we are no longer able to provide ongoing support to individuals living outside the Greater Belfast area. This change reflects the serious impact the funding cuts have had on our capacity and resources and is not a decision we have taken lightly.

We understand this will be disappointing for many people, and we sincerely apologies for the impact this will have. While our ability to support people is now significantly limited, we will do our best, within our reduced capacity, to help affected individuals identify alternative local services where possible.

Yesterday, Belfast Works Connect stood alongside our partners and colleagues from across the Community and Voluntary Sector at the NICVA-led rally on the steps of Stormont.

Together, we made it clear: our sector is united in anger and deep concern at the UK Government’s decision to reduce funding for frontline community support services when UKSPF funding ends in March.

Funding for vital services delivered by organisations like ours is set to fall by 64%. This puts essential support for 11,000 people every year at risk and threatens 400 skilled jobs across the sector.

We’re calling on everyone to get involved and help us fight these cuts.
