The sun shone on our Malone Mews last week, as we welcomed back the children from Donegall Road Primary Schooland Fane Street Primary School, who participated in facilitated workshops with WheelWorks to design our Mural.

The bright and colourful mural expresses the pupil's vision of "Good Relations", as they learnt more on the meaning of "Housing For All" and the diversity within communities.

Both schools then participated in a workshop with Wheelworks, whereby pupils designed their own Tote Bags depicting images and words from the mural.

Thanks to both schools for your participation, we hope you enjoyed yourselves.

Thanks also to Ruairí and the Wheelworks Team!

Our communities team recently attended the World Africa Day event in Derry. The afternoon was an array of dance, music, connecting and celebrating the African Community. Well done to African Caribbean Community Network ACCN for another fabulous event.

We were delighted to support this event, in partnership with our colleagues at Apex, Choice, and Radius.

Huge congratulations to Loughries Men's Shed on a truly special occasion! 👑
It’s fantastic to see the group hosting an event with King Charles and Queen Camilla, and having the opportunity to share the amazing work they do within their community

At Ark Housing, we’ve had the privilege of working alongside Loughries Men’s Shed through our activities in the area, and we’ve seen first-hand the positive impact of their work.

We’re so pleased to see this recognition on such a prestigious platform, well deserved for a group that gives so much back to their community. Congratulations to everyone involved!

Ark Communities team recently had the pleasure of visiting Clooney Community Centre, to chat with local men, who were commencing a 6-week art programme.

This programme provides a creative and inclusive space for self-expression, social interaction, and confidence-building, helping men from different backgrounds connect and collaborate. We hope the group enjoy the facilitated sessions by Sinead and look forward to revisiting!

We are delighted to partner with our colleagues at Apex Housing Association to support this project.

These projects are supported by the Communities NI programme and reflect our commitment to the NI Executive Together Building a United Community Strategy.

Big congratulations to the fantastic class from St Theresa’s Primary School!

We’re thrilled to celebrate your success in winning the Environment Award at the West Belfast Partnership Awards 👏

These annual awards are a brilliant opportunity for young people to get their thinking caps on and take real action for the environment. St Theresa’s truly stood out with their community garden. Their creative and inspiring school garden, focused on supporting pollinators and promoting biodiversity, is a wonderful example of what can be achieved 🌼🐝

At Ark Housing, we’re proud to be strengthening our own environmental and decarbonisation efforts, and we’re honoured to sponsor the Environment Award at the WBP Awards.

We're delighted to share photos from the launch of Creating Sustainable Communities: Research Report on Social Housing in Northern Ireland, held in the Long Gallery at Stormont.

This important research, commissioned by Apex, Ark, Choice, Clanmil and Radius Housing Associations and supported by the Housing Executive Housing Programme highlights a crucial message: sustainable communities require far more than bricks and mortar.

With almost 50,000 households currently on social housing waiting lists, this research, delivered in partnership with Queen's University Belfast reinforces the urgency of delivering not just homes, but thriving, connected communities.

A big thank you to all partners, contributors and speakers who made the event such a success. The Housing Executive Shared Housing programme is in partnership with the NI Executive and Communities NI Together Building a United Community Strategy.
