This year’s Belfast Twelfth parade will include over 6,500 participants including 77 bands from across Northern Ireland and Scotland. Last year, an estimated 170,000 spectators lined the route to witness the colour and pageantry of the annual event.

The procession will be led by the Officers of the County Grand Lodge of Belfast, headed by the County Colour Party and the renowned Millar Memorial Flute Band.

A special Act of Remembrance will be held at Belfast City Hall, where a wreath will be laid at the Cenotaph just before 10:20am. This short Act of Remembrance is a moment of solemn reflection in the midst of celebration and is an opportunity to honour the sacrifices of those who gave their lives in defence of their nation.

The County Grand Lodge, comprised of nine Districts, will be under the command of Rt. Wor. Bro. Spencer Beattie, who celebrates 7 years at the helm as County Grand Master.

Between 9am and 2pm, a range of activities including music, street performers, food vendors, and interactive displays will be taking place in the City centre. Shops across the city will open from 1pm to 5pm, giving festivalgoers the perfect opportunity to explore Belfast’s busy retail scene.

At this evening’s meeting of Ormeau True Blues L.O.L. No. 990, Bro. Thomas Bird was presented with a belated 30 Years’ Service Medal in recognition of his outstanding dedication and commitment to the Junior Orange Order in Ballynafeigh.

Bro. Bird served as Superintendent of Deramore Boys Ballynafeigh Junior L.O.L. No. 45 from its foundation in 1993 until 2023, giving thirty years of faithful service to the Junior movement. During that time, he played a vital role in guiding and mentoring generations of young Orangemen, promoting the principles of faith, loyalty and service upon which the Institution is founded.

The presentation was made by Bro. Gordon Fisher, an affiliated member of Ormeau True Blues L.O.L. No. 990 and Deputy Grand Treasurer of the Junior Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland. In making the presentation, Bro. Fisher paid tribute to Bro. Bird’s long and distinguished record of service and thanked him for the significant contribution he has made to the Junior Orange Association over the past three decades.

The brethren of Ballynafeigh District LOL No. 10 and Ormeau True Blues L.O.L. No. 990 extend their warmest congratulations to Bro. Bird on receiving this well-deserved recognition and thank him for his many years of dedication to the Junior Orange movement.

Easter Day!
As we celebrate Easter, we are reminded of the most important event in our Christian faith – the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter is a time for us to reflect on the incredible love that God has for each of us and the amazing power of His victory over death.

The story of Easter tells us that Jesus gave His life for us, and then, three days later, He rose again from the dead. This shows us that no matter how tough life may get, God is stronger than anything – even death itself. Jesus’ resurrection brings us hope, joy, and the promise of eternal life with Him.

As members of the Junior Orange, we also remember the courage and faith of those who stood for what was right, just like Jesus did. Easter reminds us to be strong and brave in our faith, no matter what challenges we might face. Just like Jesus never gave up, we are called to never give up on our beliefs and to stand firm for what is good and true.

So this Easter, let’s remember the power of God’s love and the joy of His victory. Let’s be thankful for the gift of life, the hope of the resurrection, and the strength we have through our faith in Christ. And just like the Orange Institution was founded on the principles of faith and freedom, we are called to live out those principles in our everyday lives – by being kind, standing up for what’s right, and sharing the love of Jesus with others.

We hope you have enjoyed our messages throughout Holy Week.

Wishing you all a blessed Easter filled with joy, hope, and the peace of Christ!

Happy Easter!
