🌞 Newhill Families Summer Programme Comes to an End🌞

Today we brought our fantastic Newhill Families Summer Programme to a close, and what an amazing few weeks it has been! 💛

Our families enjoyed a summer packed full of fun, adventure, learning and making memories together. From exciting trips to Infinity Adventure, local farms, High Rise, Armagh Planetarium and Indiana Land, to swimming and fun-filled workshops at Gairdin an Phobail with the wonderful Pauline & Leasha — there was something for everyone to enjoy. 🌈

A huge thank you to all the families who joined us, our amazing mummy's and everyone who helped make this summer programme such a success.

It has been brilliant to see families connect, children explore new experiences and everyone having the opportunity to create happy memories together.

Here’s to another fantastic Newhill summer! 💚

A huge thank you to Scap and the fantastic Colin Men’s Shed Ukulele Band Colin Neighbourhood Partnership who came along to Newhill today to entertain our women’s groups.

What a brilliant afternoon of music, singing, dancing and plenty of craic! 🎵💃🕺

Everyone had a fantastic time, and it was wonderful to see everyone up dancing and enjoying themselves on this Tuesday afternoon!

A massive thank you to this fantastic group of talented men for bringing so much fun, music and energy to Newhill. 🎶👏

We really appreciate you taking the time to come along to entertain us, you were absolutely brilliant! 👏

We hope to see you back again soon! 🎸🎶💃

Brilliant morning at the Whiterock Triangle, Mountainloney, for our Biodiversity Walk as part of Belfast Hills Partnership Journey to 30x30! Thank you to ecologist Karl Hamilton for leading the walk and exploring its wildlife, species and habitats. There was plenty of discussion about how the Whiterock Triangle can be managed to help nature thrive for 30x30. Local knowledge is so important for the future of the site to ensure the community remains at the heart of the conversation. Thanks to everyone who came along. Join us this Friday for our community and family fun/open day we will have a barbecue and inflatables, games, arts and crafts, there will be an opportunity to see our exciting community garden plans and take part in some gardening!!

We especially welcome our neighbours from New Barnsley Crescent, the mountain ‘loney’ and Dermott Hill.

We will also be providing a quiet hour from 11 am until 12 pm for children with additional needs.

This is an open invite just turn up on the day!!

What a fantastic morning our Newhill Family Groups had at an Phobail 🌿☀️

Families enjoyed a fun-filled programme of outdoor activities including creating giant bubbles, arts & crafts, foraging, digging and picking fresh potatoes, making delicious homemade pizzas, going on a mini beast hunt, creating clay figures, and making seed bombs to take home.

It was a wonderful opportunity for families to connect with nature, learn new skills, and spend quality time together while making lasting summer memories. A huge thank you to Pauline, Leasha, Sean and everyone who joined us and helped make the day such a success! 💚🌻

Over the past two weeks, our adult groups have been busy enjoying a fantastic programme of summer activities! 💚

Having fun and meeting the animals at Laganvale Farm 🐑 exploring the wonderful Armagh Planetarium🌌 Getting hands-on building bat boxes for the Black Mountain🦇with Belfast Hills Partnership.

The groups also enjoyed a memorable visit to Arbour Hill Cemetery in Dublin learning more about our history, and embraced the great outdoors in the lovely weather with beautiful walks Crawfordsburn to Bangor and through Castlewellan Forest Park 🌳🚶‍♀️.

These activities are about so much more than days out, they help build confidence, improve wellbeing, create new friendships and encourage women to stay active while exploring new places together.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and made the past two weeks so enjoyable. 💚
