In need of a reset and some emotional support?? 🥲😵‍💫 The SWAG is for you! 🤩💯

If you ask me, social workers are absolutely amazing. But, there’s no doubt that the role can be A LOT. I’m in ‘the thick of it’ everyday, so I understand.

At the SWAG our goal is to promote greater compassion in social work: for families AND for practitioners.

— Because having compassionate services isn’t just a nice idea; it’s essential for creating meaningful change and building a strong profession 💛

Here’s how you can get involved!!

Each month we will be running a FREE online group for you to join, called ‘The Social Worker Lounge’ — for emotional support and building a compassionate community for change.

Why not make 2025 the year you work with us to transform children’s services and really prioritise self-compassion too?

What if they turned up to ‘complete an assessment’ on you? Let’s be kind, generous and compassionate always, no matter what the issues are ❤️💯

Things are often more complex and nuanced than they first appear. It’s up to us to show grace to the parents we work with. Remember, we ARE the system.

If we practice empathy then families will experience the system as empathic.

If we are harsh or judgemental families will experience the system as such.

How would you respond to a social worker arriving at your door? Chances are we would all feel reluctant to engage with them?

Would you tell them everything or would it take time to build up trust? 🤔

Let us know in the comments.

And if you’re a practitioner in need of emotional support why not join Nurture Change from our bio.

Rooting for you always 💛

Proud to have our name and logo included here — representing our support of and commitment to anti-racism and diversity.

The onus is on all of us at this dangerous time to be actively anti-racist and engaged in protecting members of our society who’re being targeted!

Parents, know your rights about child protection conferences. Social services have standards to uphold so don’t be afraid to challenge if those standards aren’t being met.
