New Lodge Artist in Residence The New Lodge Artist in Residency project explores the relationship between art community & space, developing the artists practice and residents input.

Welcome to the New Lodge Artist In Residence page. This page will update residents and interested parties on the year long development of the artists role in this urban residency. The residency is concerned with exploring the relationship between artist, community and place, where the meaning of the work is implicit; obvious, rather than hidden. The residency will creatively investigate approaches

to working effectively within a community context, to platform the views and concerns of local people, so that they have an impact on their environment. The residency will also support the development of the artist and how it impacts and enhances their own practice. Previous Artist in Residence Charlotte Bosanquet worked with the Youth Justice Agency on The Drone Project reflecting the changing face and re-development of the New Lodge Area. The residency culminated in a show of the work in a derelict house Hillman Street, Upper New Lodge . The current resident is Lesley Cherry, who was awarded the position in April 2017.
