Blackmountain Action Group Blackmountain Action Group creates a safe environment for young people and adults to widen their horizons. Through art, drama, music, dance and discussion.

Blackmountain Action Group provide and seek out training programmes and projects that enables personal development. We provide opportunities for all members of the community to explore their own values and beliefs and try new and interesting ways of doing so.

🌞🌞🌞SUMMER SCHEME INFORMATION🌞🌞🌞

We are running 3 summer schemes this year for our 8-11 year old members.

The details are as follows;

Summer scheme 1- 29th June- 3rd July. 10am-1pm

Summer Scheme 2- 6th-10th July. 10am-1pm

SEN Summer Scheme- 6th-10th July. 1.30pm-4pm

Our Registration for these will be Wednesday 17th June at 5pm-6pm. If all parents can call to our centre within this time to register.

Your child can only register for 1 of the schemes available as there are limited spaces.

Its been another busy week for us, with the following programme's happening:

Our drop-in continued with our P7's moving into senior drop-in, they have loved the change!

Our young girls have begun their OCN in Diversity with John Paul Youth Club facilitated by Boys & Girls Clubs NI, United Youth Initiatives.

Seniors members have begun their Health & Well-Being Programme, this week they focused on the benefits of Community Connections!

Our young men continued with their Strive programme, moving towards becoming involved in Restorative Practices.

Youth Empowerment Programme was running with young adults continuing on with their ILM in Diversity. In partnership with TWN Training for Women Network .

Our Youth Committee particpated in Money Management training as part of their Horizons Programme. They will also be spending Saturday planning for their trip to Anncey next month. In Partnership with North Belfast Area Project YWIC, EA Youth Service.

Our Women's group enjoyed a relaxing night away after their hard work the past few months, looking at self-defence, online safety, first aid and planning for the next few months.

Our Senior women's group continued with thier Relate NI programme.

All programme's will continue as normal next week. Look forward to seeing everyone back in doing what they do!!!

Round-up of activities from this week;

● Drop-in was on both Monday & Thursday with the young people engaging in games, sports, programme planning and art activities!

● Our Tuesday night women's group had a break from programmes and spent the night chatting with one another!

● Wednesday was spent with a few of the men from Highfield Activity Group as they visited the City Cemetery.

● The young men continued their Strive programme, with Alternatives Restorative Justice.

● Our 19-26 year olds begun theor Youth Empowerment Programme in partnership with TWN Training for Women Network.

● Black Mountain Primary School P7 class continued with their personal & social development programme, spent their session relaxing with each other while engaging in different activities.

● Our senior women's group had their first session of their new programme focusing on healthy relationships!

● There is also lots of summer planning going on behind the scenes, keep an eye out for whats will be happening over the summer months!

Staff were delighted to represent our organisation at a special event to mark the arrival of the Fleadh in the Belfast.

It was an an amazing opportunity to see young people provide the entertainment for His Majesty King Charles, especially our member Ruben! They where amazing and should be proud of themselves!

The past week has been very busy for us:

Drop-in was on as normal with young people enjoying being out in the sun.

Staff and members had a visit from Gavin Robinson, where they had positive conversations.

Family Focus continued with families baking together and parents participating in Summerhill's Cost of Living programme while the children done art & crafts.

A Women's group completed the first session Summerhills cost of Living Programme.

Two of our women's groups completed the first sessions of their First Aid course.

Our new community relations programme started with Corpus Christi Youth Centre.

Young men's group continued with their Strive programme.

We are looking forward to another busy week, cant wait yo see you all!

Our young people where delighted to get back together with their mates from Corpus Christi Youth Centre. They had a great night playing games and catching up with each other.

Over the next few month's they will be participating in a sports programme with Active Communities Network-Belfast. Keep an eye out to see the different types of sports they will be trying out!

Our young people where amazing today at their ‘Changemakers Market’! They worked so hard on promoting and selling their products, working together as a team and interacting with the public! All proceeds from today will go to their chosen charity Lighthouse, which supports and primotes positive mental health!
