The Adsum Foundation is a charity based in Belfast that supports communities in Madagascar. Our focus is Madagascar.

We do this by funding projects that provide access to basic human needs such as clean water and education. Established in 2008 in Belfast, Northern Ireland with the goal of investing in people and communities in the developing world.

Today, on Earth Day, we’re sharing some of the work being carried out with communities in Madagascar and the positive difference it is making.

Did you know?

1. Wells are being constructed to provide schools with access to clean water.
2. Agroecology projects are helping communities plant trees and restore the land.
3. Book programmes and school maintenance are creating better spaces for children to learn and grow.
4. Adult literacy programmes are supporting people to build skills, confidence, and opportunities for the future.

These are just a few of the projects currently underway. Each may seem small on its own, but together they help create a lasting positive impact for communities in Madagascar.

The Quiz Night’s success would not have been possible without the generosity of our local donors, who kindly provided prizes including vouchers, a hamper, a planter, a bottle of champagne, overnight stays, and fun day-out experiences.

Another great evening last Thursday at our ‘Battle of the Business Brains’ 2026.

35 teams came together for a night of fun and friendly competition while raising funds for projects we support in Madagascar.

Taking part helps us continue working alongside our partners in Madagascar, supporting their ongoing work and making a lasting difference. We appreciate everyone who took part.

We would also like to thank all the local businesses that generously donated prizes for the raffle and auction.

Teams from across the business community will be going head-to-head in a friendly quiz night, all in support of community development projects in Madagascar.

Sharing this post from one of our partners whose work has had a real impact across Madagascar, improving access to transportation through bicycles, alongside agroecology projects within schools and improved access to clean water.
