Volunteers are at the beating heart of TCV, without you, our services making an impact on communities and local environment couldn’t exist. So from all of us here in the NI team, a massive “Thank-you”.

Thank you for your time, effort and skills. Thank you for showing up week in, week out, come hail or shine. And Thank you for bringing laughter and friendship to Tea CV.

😎 This project definitely gave me the warm and fuzzy’s…

The cubs from First Newcastle (Valentia place) were sunny side up and hard at it building, crafting and potting their Sunshine Boxes!

We worked with the cubs to create something they thought would bring cheer to local patients (some of which were suffering poor health), they came up with the idea of gifting window boxes across the SE Trust areas.

Not only did the cubs develop skills in DIY and horticulture, but the recipients were delighted with their Sunshine Box with one remarking “every time I look at my doorstep, it reminds me someone cares”. 🥹

A special thanks to all involved…

Buzzin 🐝 to be asked by our friends over at Native coffee to provide a workshop at their big Native Weekender. And what a wander day we got for it.

Build, plant, grow… we got participants to build their own herb boxes, showing that DIY and horticulture is accessible to all when you’re shown how.

If you missed the workshop, why not come to one of our open community gardens (Green Gyms). Lauren, Amber, Orla and Liz take on new tasks with their volunteers every week. From raised beds, to willow fences. Get in touch to find out dates, times and locations.

We love volunteering so much, we even do it on our staff days out!
Meet our incredible TCV Team, the powerhouse of peeps behind Community Garden Projects, The Tree Nursery, Environmental management, and everything in between.
Today we were at The Loop, giving the space a spruce, updating the raised beds and raising the willow dome back to its former glory.
If you’d like to come and learn from the team or get involved in any of our projects, get in touch.

The garden shrubbed up nicely! Just a little taster of the work Nev and his Volunteer David have been doing over the past few Tuesday’s. I’ll be back in sunnier weather, to snap the garden in its glory. Want to learn how to make a raised bed, or what plants are great for Bees and Butterflies? Come volunteer with us!

This will never Not be impressive! The scale of the I can Grow program, the organisation and partnership involved and the outcome for families is immeasurable.

As food insecurity rises, this is a “behind the scenes” of some of the team helping families gain confidence in growing their own!

It might be too late to join the scheme this year, but our Brooke Park team and garden have all the know-how to help you grow too! Get in touch for details.
