Shelter NI A local charity campaigning to combat homelessness since 1980 GABLE operates services throughout Strabane, L’Derry, Magherafelt and Limavady.

Shelter NI is a charity campaigning for a sufficient supply of affordable, good quality, warm, healthy, safe and secure housing for all households in NI, and to eliminate homelessness and poor housing. Shelter NI provides temporary furnished accommodation and floating support services for young people aged 16-25 through SLATE project based in Omagh. One service supports older and disabled people w

ith the Disabled Facilities Grant. Helping Hands is a new service and aims to provide a “First Response” to households which require urgent repairs or maintenance to their home.

SLATE has proudly attended Omagh Pride over the past number of years, and we look forward to joining the celebrations again this year alongside our service users. It is always a fantastic opportunity to celebrate diversity, inclusion, equality, and community spirit.

What a lovely Sunday at SLATE 😋

Our service users enjoyed a tasty Sunday dinner together in the office, and they helped prepare it too! From peeling vegetables and setting the table to helping serve up the meal, everyone got involved.

It was great to see everyone working together, having a laugh, and enjoying some good food and company. A fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

The good weather called for a BBQ! ☀️🌭🍔

We recently enjoyed a fantastic BBQ with our service users, bringing everyone together for good food, great company, and plenty of laughs in the sunshine.

It was wonderful to see everyone relaxing, socialising, and making the most of the beautiful weather.

Days like these are a great reminder of the importance of connection, community, and enjoying time together
