We are delighted to see so many of Scout Groups embracing international Scouting adventures this summer:
⭐️ 51st Belfast – Belgium 🇧🇪
⭐️ 1st Carryduff – Sweden 🇸🇪
⭐️ 109th Belfast – Kandersteg, Switzerland 🇨🇭
⭐️ 74th Belfast – South Africa 🇿🇦
⭐️ 81st Belfast - England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿(WINGS Jamboree)

Alongside these fantastic group experiences, we were also proud to see 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐮𝐦 𝐌𝐜𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐲 (40th Belfast) leading the Scouts NI Explorer Belt expedition.

What an incredible summer, with over 100 young people taking part in life-changing international opportunities, developing new skills, exploring new places and creating memories that will last a lifetime. 🙌🏻

Ardnavally Update: The valley steps have been reopened!🎉

Refurbishments continue to happen at Ardnavally and at the tail end of 2025, we closed the steps of the valley to allow for a piece of work to be carried out and we are really pleased to report that after weeks of effort from the Ardnavally Wardens Team, the route has been reopened with a new stone surface laid. ✅

A big thank you to the team of volunteers and also to the 62nd & 51st Explorers who gave up their time to help put the finishing touches to the path.

⚠️ Please continue to take extra care when using the steps, especially during wet weather, as the surfaces may still be slippery. ⚠️

𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞….⭐️

In a week of so much heartbreak, fear and uncertainty, it was amazing to see Scouts represented at the Habitat for Humanity Ireland Conference: 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔. 🙌🏻

During the event, awards were presented to recognise everything that volunteers do to bring to the Habitat for Humanity mission alive - particularly from the commissioned the teams who travelled to support the work in India, Romania & Cambodia.

We were so pleased to see 𝐈𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐭 from Lagan District receiving the 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝, recognising their contributions and experience as part of the Scouts NI trip to Cambodia in 2025. 🇰🇭

Due to the current situation in Belfast, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel our upcoming District Scout Camp.

The safety of our young people and volunteers is always our top priority, and we believe this is the right decision at this time.

We know this will be disappointing for many, and we share that disappointment. There has been so much work put into the camp and hope to reschedule when it is safe to do so.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. 💚 ⚜️

Given the location of Ardnavally Scout Centre and the current situation in Belfast and surrounding areas, we have made the decision to close the site this evening to ensure the safety of all our users, volunteers and staff.

This Volunteers’ Week, we’re proud to celebrate the amazing people who make 𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬 so special.

Across our District, we have over 𝟐𝟎𝟎 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 giving their time as Leaders, Helpers, and Team members, all working together to support and inspire the next generation.

Because of you, more than 𝟏,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 are taking part in Scouting every week, learning new skills, building friendships, growing in confidence and enjoying adventure.

From delivering programmes and organising activities to supporting groups behind the scenes, every single volunteer plays a vital role in making Scouting happen.
Your commitment has a lasting impact, not just on young people, but on families and our wider community.

Thank you for everything you do, 𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬 wouldn’t be the same without you. 💚

𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 - 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞 𝐀 ✅

Module A is all about preparing to take on the challenge of being a Young Leader, so it was really positive to start everyone’s YL journey off on a good footing! 🙌🏻

While the course might have been slightly last minute, it was great to bring together 20 Young Leaders from across Lagan District and South East Antrim District. ⚜️

The first collaboration between the two Districts, and certainly will not be the last! Thank you to all who led and supported the event! 👀

𝐓𝐎𝐏 𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐒 - 𝐏𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 🥾

This weekend, 14 Explorers participated on their practice expedition for their Chief Scout's Diamond Award and Silver DofE Award.

From the sunshine to the rain, low clouds to the mighty winds, and let’s not forget the hills to the level paths, this was a great start to the DofE expeditions for 2026.

Thanks to 62nd Belfast for hosting the DofE experiences, with 109th Belfast and 110th Belfast participating too! ⚜️
