What a special evening at Hillsborough Castle!
We were delighted to showcase the incredible talents of our Award participants and Leaders at an event. Heidi Carson-Hair, a Volunteer from Victoria College Belfast, and Stanley Hair, a Gold participant from Royal Belfast Academical Institution (74 Belfast Scouts), performed beautifully on the harp, while Bronze Award Holder Andrew Nixon entertained guests at the piano. A huge thank you to our wonderfully talented musicians for making the occasion so memorable!

40 DofE Awards achieved!

Huge congratulations to the young people from Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church who have completed an impressive 19 Bronze and 21 Silver Awards.

Each Award represents months of commitment, new experiences, personal challenges and determination. This is a tremendous achievement for every participant, and a proud moment for their families, leaders and church community.

Well done to all 40 Award recipients, and thank you to everyone who encouraged and supported them throughout their DofE journeys.

Mrs Elaine Dempsey-Green recently retired as the DofE Co-ordinator at Regent House Grammar School.

For over 30 years, Elaine has inspired generations of young people to challenge themselves, build resilience and realise their potential through the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

Throughout the years, Elaine has supported thousands of students on their DofE journeys, helping them to achieve their Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.

It was great to have the opportunity to present Elaine with some flowers at a recent event and Mr Mervyn Storey, Chair of Authority, joined us to thank Elaine for the many years of service to the DofE.

We send our very best wishes for the years ahead!

It was a pleasure to meet with Mr Peter Jack, High Sheriff of County Londonderry, along with representatives from Probation Board for Northern Ireland, Youth Justice Agency and the Northern Ireland Prison Service.

Together, we explored how the Award can create practical, positive opportunities for young people across Northern Ireland, helping them build confidence, skills and a stronger sense of what is possible.

A really valuable conversation, and one we hope will help strengthen support for young people.
