Climate Northern Ireland

Climate Northern Ireland Climate NI is devoted to increasing awareness of climate impacts in NI and promoting climate action.

Climate Northern Ireland was established in March 2007 under the name Northern Ireland Climate Change Impacts Partnership (NICCIP). Its aim is to widen the understanding and knowledge of the impacts of climate change within Northern Ireland and the adaptation actions necessary to deal with it. The partnership consists of representatives from central and local government, the business community, the voluntary sector and professional organisations.

🌳🎤QUB Annual Wiles Lecture Series: Repairing the Planet🎤🌳

This years annual Wiles Lecture Series will take place at Queen’s University Belfast on 20-23 May 2026.

The series concludes with a lecture on competing visions of planetary repair. Some argue for scaling back technology to allow ecosystems (and humanity) to regenerate naturally. For others, climate repair means the full mobilisation of technology, including geoengineering, to repair the damage done to earth systems by human activity.
