📢 Just one week left to share your thoughts for 📢

Over the years, your feedback has helped shape Volunteers’ Week in meaningful ways.

You told us a Monday start works better - so we made that change.

You told us you wanted a more user-friendly website - so we built one.

You told us you’d love merchandise for events and gifts - so we created an online shop.

We truly value what you tell us, and we’re always listening.

There’s still time to have your say - share your ideas and help make next year’s Volunteers’ Week even better.

Confidence has no age limit ✨

We partnered with Collection Cosmetics for an Age Well Skin Masterclass, bringing older women together for a morning of beauty, connection and confidence-building.

A lovely reminder that everyone deserves to feel good in their own skin, at every age.

At Volunteer Now, we’re proud to champion spaces where older people feel seen, valued and supported.

Huge thanks to the team at Collection 🩷

Earlier this week we had the privilege of celebrating an incredible milestone with Chest Heart & Stroke NI 🎉

A day full of milestones and appreciation:
💙 80 years of Chest Heart & Stroke in Northern Ireland
💙 30 years of the Armagh Support Group
💙 A Volunteers’ Week Thank You Party
We were delighted to be joined by Deputy Lord Mayor Alderman Lavelle McIlwrath to mark the occasion.

A huge shoutout to Beth – the creativity and effort behind this event was unreal. Every year she raises the bar, and this one was no exception 🙌 (even transforming an old shed door into something special!)

And a lovely moment captured with one of the Event Ambassadors, who has recently joined the CHS volunteer team as a social car driver 🚗💙

Here’s to the volunteers, the community, and many more milestones ahead 👏

Even in her final week before retirement, our incredible Volunteering Support Officer, Wenda, was out doing what she does best - connecting with communities across Northern Ireland 💙

As part of , Wenda attended the Antrim & Newtownabbey Loneliness Network conference at the Dunsilly Hotel. This year’s theme, ‘Giving Loneliness a Voice’, brought people together to reflect and take action, and we were delighted to have Siobhan Casey, Commission for Older People, as our keynote speaker. It was also great to have the new Mayor, Councillor Henry Cushinan, join us to acknowledge and recognise our new Loneliness Champions nominated by their peers.

Wenda has been part of the network since its launch in 2019, and it was a lovely moment to see her recognised as she prepares to retire. We’re delighted that Clare-Marie Bailie will continue Volunteer Now’s involvement in the network.

Wenda also organised a fantastic Loneliness Awareness Week event in Carrickfergus for over 30 local people. The morning included a dementia awareness session, laughter yoga, and a fiercely competitive Boccia match (with the red team winning by just one shot! 🔴), followed by a delicious lunch. Huge thanks to the Northern Trust Health and Wellbeing Team for funding, Valerie from the Alzheimer’s Society, Mrs Rea from Woodburn PS, Delacy’s Bakery, and our brilliant volunteers Ann, Chrissi and Janiece for making the day such a success 🙌

Everyone at Volunteer Now would like to thank Wenda for her years of dedication and impact - we wish her a very happy and well-deserved retirement 💐

This we’re partnering with .ni to thank the volunteers who are helping build stronger support networks for dads across Northern Ireland.

Whether it’s a Sunday Dadventure or a larger community event, your time, encouragement and commitment are reminding people that they matter.

Because sometimes, knowing someone cares can make all the difference 💙
