As parents, we all know that family life can be full of challenges, but none of us should ever feel like we have to face them alone.

Our next FREE Autism Support Session for Parents takes place this Saturday at Foodstock EEC.

📅 Saturday 20th June
⏰ 10:00am – 12:30pm
📍 Foodstock EEC, 54-56 King Street, Belfast BT1 6AD

This will be a relaxed, welcoming and practical session for parents and carers to come together, ask questions and talk openly about the everyday realities of supporting autistic children and young people.

Whether it’s behaviour, routines, communication, sensory needs, emotional wellbeing or anything else going on at home, the session will be shaped around what parents want help with.

Loved being at St Louise’s this week and having the privilege of judging at their Preventative Curriculum Showcase Day.

I was totally blown away by the passion, confidence and understanding the students showed around real issues affecting young people and our wider community - and, just as importantly, the solutions they put forward.

Truly inspirational young people with so much to offer.

A massive well done to everyone involved including all the staff, and thank you to St Louise’s for the warm welcome and the flowers 💐

Open to every child and young person in the community 🤝

Foodstock, in partnership with Clanmil, are at Hub West Community Space, Caffrey Court until 8.45am, providing hot porridge, fresh fruit, snacks and a drink to sit in or take away. 🥣🍎

The Muckamore Abbey findings are heartbreaking and deeply disturbing. I know many families throughout our communities who have been impacted by this.

Vulnerable people were placed in a system that was meant to care, protect and uphold dignity. Instead, they were badly failed.

That failure demands accountability.

This cannot become another report left on a shelf. There must be real change, real consequences and a system that protects people with dignity.

They deserved better then and hey deserve justice now!
