Foodstock - Community Solidarity Hub were delighted to support the All Saints World Cup at Sarsfields on Friday with fresh apples, oranges, bananas and water to keep everyone fuelled and hydrated throughout the day.

Well done to all the Year 8 and Year 9 pupils who took part, and congratulations to the winners, Portugal. 🇵🇹

A reminder to all parents that we are running a free community breakfast club on the Glen Road every Friday morning, open to young people from all schools.

We are incredibly grateful to friends from Cafe Chai Dastan for providing delicious meals for people calling to our Foodstock - Community Solidarity Hub.

A fantastic gesture and one which will make a real difference to families and individuals in our community.

This is solidarity in action - local businesses stepping up, showing kindness and making sure people are supported with dignity.

Please support them if you can. 🤝

What a night for Éire Go Brách CSC’s 30th Anniversary Dinner.

Grateful for all that the club do to show solidarity with those struggling in the community - following the ethos of Brother Walfrid, the founder of Celtic, through their work to ensure that no one is left behind and that people can put food on the table for themselves and their families with dignity. Thank you from all of us at Foodstock.

It was also brilliant to meet the legend Peter Grant - a player from my favourite Celtic team as a kid, the double-winning side of the 1988 Centenary season.

Well done to everyone involved in organising a fantastic night.

If you were passing the A’Town Road around 7am this morning, you would have seen a Henderson lorry unloading a massive amount of food into Foodstock - Community Solidarity Hub.

An incredible donation of a full shop’s worth of items following the SPAR International Conference at the ICC this week. Thank you to them and the guys at Callow for arranging!

Our team of volunteers were there from early, rolling the contents of the lorry into the hub, getting it all in and onto our shelves, ready to go back out into the community.

This will go a long way in showing solidarity with families who are finding things difficult right now. Sadly, because of the volume of support going out through Foodstock every day, even a donation this size will only last a week or two - that shows the scale of need families are facing.

A big shout out to Darren from Henderson, and to Daire, Ciaran, Gabriel, Pearse and the two Charlies for the early start and hard work.

Community in action 🤝

Traffic signals at Stewartstown Road, at the junction with Suffolk Road and Blacks Road, are all out AGAIN!

This has been an ongoing issue over the last week now which is unnaceptable.

Drivers and pedestrians should take extra care.

Please slow down, approach with caution and only cross when safe.

Reported again this morning.

Breakfast is ready! 🥣

If your young people are travelling to school via the Glen Road this morning, they can call in and get a free, hearty breakfast - hot porridge, fresh fruit, snacks and a drink ready and waiting.

We do this to give young people the best start to their day in class and to lift some pressure from parents during the morning rush.

🕢 When: This Friday, 7.30am – 8.45am
📍 Where: Hub West Community Space, Unit 4, 3 Caffrey Court, BT11 8RF

This runs every Friday and is completely free for everyone in the community.

All welcome.
