🌟 REACH FOR THE STARS EVENT NEXT FRIDAY 3rd JULY 🌟

Last year we had an amazing time at our reach for the stars event hosted in Hammer Youth Club. 🎉

Fast forward a year it’s not time for the event to take place where young people will take part in fun workshops and an awards ceremony for their efforts! 🏆

This year at GYC we have had 22+ young people engage in the R4S workshops based on different themes such as culutre, where they then recieved stars for their efforts!

Consent forms will be available tomorrow evening during junior drop in 🤩

We will be taking public transport to and from the hammer youth club, so young people will need bus fare 🚌

Our juniors enjoyed a water fight and had great fun cooling off! 💦

They also loved colouring summer posters, helping to make chocolate-covered strawberries, and enjoying some cookies kindly supplied by LifeHubNI 🍓

Our senior girls got creative with diamond art, while the boys enjoyed spending time together playing board games 🎨🎲

There were also lots of positive conversations about upcoming trips and our summer scheme plans, with plenty of excitement building for the weeks ahead ☀️😊

🎓🏫 Congratulations to all of our P7s on your last day of primary school! 🏫🎓

What an incredible achievement as you complete your primary education and close this chapter of your journey. 🌟

We know today will bring lots of emotions as you say goodbye to familiar faces, teachers and memories. 💙

But exciting adventures and new opportunities are just around the corner as you prepare to start secondary school. 📚✨

Believe in yourselves, be proud of how far you’ve come, and remember that you are capable of amazing things. 💪🌈

📢 IMPORTANT REMINDER FOR ALL PARENTS AND GUARDIANS 📢

We are currently in the process of collecting registration forms for all young people for the 2026–2027 year.

These forms must be updated annually, particularly as our summer schemes and programmes are beginning soon.

We have been flexible in allowing young people to take forms home and return them at a later date. However, we now need to ensure all records are up to date.

Unfortunately, any young person attending the youth club tonight without a completed and updated registration form will be unable to stay and will not be permitted to attend future sessions until a new form has been submitted and signed.

Keeping registration information up to date helps us ensure the safety and wellbeing of all young people attending our programmes.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

This will be at the end of both junior and senior sessions to avoid young people sitting in wet clothes!

⚽️ 🏀 PeacePlayers Programme in Partnership with Mountain Hill Youth Club🏀⚽️

Week 2 started with some fun warm-up games, including Land, Sea and Air. 😊

The young people then took part in icebreaker activities to help them learn each other’s names and get to know one another better. 🤝

They practised their basketball shooting skills and learned new techniques. 🎯

The group also enjoyed friendly matches and team challenges throughout the session. 🏀

It was great to see new friendships being formed and confidence growing each week. ⭐

Mondays at GYC ☀️

Tonight our Juniors enjoyed a range of summer-themed activities, including word searches, colouring, and our “Create Your Own Ice Cream Flavour” competition! 🍦

There were some fantastic ideas, but Joker, Fruit Blossom, and Jawbreaker flavours took the top spots. Well done to everyone who took part! 👏

Our Senior Boys also got involved by making and enjoying chocolate-covered strawberries 🍓 and sharing some toast together while catching up.
