𝗔 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗵 𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 💡

Earlier this year, some of our team headed to Edinburgh to visit Simon Community Scotland and see first-hand how they're supporting people experiencing homelessness through innovative, person-centred services.

From street outreach and harm reduction to creative community projects and Housing First, we came away with plenty of inspiration and ideas ✨

It was a fantastic opportunity to learn from others, share experiences, and explore how we can continue developing services that support the whole person not just their housing needs.

Over the past week of beautiful weather, these donations have been distributed across all of our services, helping ensure the people we support can stay safe, and protected!

Access to essentials like sun protection can often be overlooked, but gestures like this make a real difference to the health, wellbeing and dignity of the individuals we work with every day 🫶

𝟭𝟭-𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿-𝗢𝗹𝗱 𝗔𝘃𝗮 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 £𝟭,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 🌟

At just 11 years old, Ava Walsh showed us all what compassion in action looks like 🧡

After seeing people sleeping rough in Belfast, Ava was determined to help. Using her new netball set, she challenged herself to score 100 goals every day for a month, whatever the weather and raised an incredible £1,000 for The Welcome Organisation.

𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗢𝗣𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬 - 𝗪𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗡’𝗦 𝗛𝗨𝗕 𝗡𝗔𝗩𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗧𝗢𝗥 🚨

We’re excited to announce a brand new role at The Welcome Organisation.

The 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗛𝘂𝗯 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 is a unique two year post that will lead an innovative partnership project designed to improve outcomes for women experiencing chronic homelessness and multiple exclusion.

Working alongside Belfast City Council’s Complex Lives Programme, Depaul, Health and Social Care NI, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, the Public Health Agency, Simon Community and The Welcome Organisation, this role will help shape a trauma-informed, holistic and cross-agency approach to supporting women with complex needs.

This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of developing new ways of working to ensure women experiencing homelessness receive the coordinated, gender-specific support they need to build more stable futures.
