This Volunteers’ Week, we want to say a huge thank you to the incredible people who make 62nd Belfast Scout Group what it is 💛

Our Leaders, Helpers and Trustees give their time, energy and passion week in, week out to create opportunities for young people to learn new skills, build confidence and have fun. Whether it’s planning activities, supporting meetings, managing behind-the-scenes governance, or helping events run smoothly, every contribution matters.

👏 To our 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 – thank you for inspiring and guiding our young people.
👏 To our 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬 – thank you for lending a hand and making everything run that bit easier.
👏 To our 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐬 – thank you for your dedication in keeping the Scout Group strong and sustainable.

If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, we’re always happy to welcome new volunteers, no matter how much time you can give.

𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟏𝟏𝟎 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐮𝐛𝐬! 🌟⚜️

What an incredible weekend we’ve just had at Cub110, hosted by Scouts NI! 🏕️

Our Cubs had an amazing time celebrating 110 years of Cubs, and it truly was an experience to remember. With over 700 people on site, it was truly amazing, so thank you to the NI Cub Team for an amazing weekend!

From a wide range of exciting activities and challenges, there was never a dull moment. The energy, enthusiasm and teamwork on display were fantastic to see!

We were delighted to see a few of our leaders join the contingent from Scouts NI to attend the DofE Garden Party in the gardens of Buckingham Palace, recognising 70 years of the DofE and the number of awards from 62nd Belfast over the last 5 years.⚜️

We are on the lookout for someone passionate, organised and community-minded to take on the role of Chair of our Trustee Board.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people in Belfast by supporting our dedicated volunteers and helping guide the future of our Scout Group.

🔹 Championing the values of Scouting in our community.

No Scouting experience is required, just enthusiasm and a desire to get involved!

From everyone at 62nd Belfast, we want to say a massive congratulations to our Group Lead Volunteer, Scott Robinson, who has been appointed by the Chief Volunteer to the role of the Lead Volunteer for Volunteering at Scouts NI. We look forward to what the future brings!🙌

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 ⚜️

I am really pleased to share that two of our volunteers have taken on new responsibilities within the 𝗡𝗜 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺.

Leading on Volunteering, 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻 will help us strengthen how we support our adult volunteers. With experience across County, Regional and Transformation work, 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁 really understands what volunteers need and how we can improve leadership and support across the board.

Leading on Programme, 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝘀𝗼𝗻 will help keep our programme exciting, consistent and youth focused. 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿’𝘀 experience from District roles, World Jamboree teams and as our 14–24 Lead means he brings real passion and insight to this area.

Both Scott and Peter bring a 𝗵𝘂𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁 of experience and I am delighted they have accepted these responsibilities. I know they will have your 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 as they get started.

This Sunday, we will be coming together with Newtownbreda (St John's) Presbyterian Church and Girl Guiding to celebrate our Founder’s Day / Thinking Day.

⏰ All Uniformed Members meet at 10:00am
⚜️Service starts: 10:30am, led by Rev Paul Lutton

If your Monday or Friday nights are a bit too quiet, this could be the change you’re after. 62nd Belfast is looking for new volunteers to support our programme. No experience needed. We’ll train you, support you, and make sure you’re part of the team from day one.

What it involves:
👉 Turning up on Monday evenings
👉Supporting activities and having a laugh along the way
👉Making a real difference without any drama or nonsense with our sections:
💥 Squirrels – 4-6 years old (Mondays)
💥 Beavers – 6-8 years old (Mondays)
💥 Cubs – 8-10.5 years old (Mondays)
💥 Scouts – 10.5-14 years old (Fridays)
💥Explorers – 14-18 years old (Fridays)
