Registered charity, Commission who operates the centre produces award-winning Christian radio programmes and material for broadcast locally, in UK & Ireland and worldwide. They rely entirely on the generosity of their supporters to fund their ongoing work. UCB UK joined Commission in 2009 until 2015 as a mission partner and UCB (NI) wass based at the Commission Broadcast Centre. UCB UK used the ce

As well as having having an important job as a Civil Servant, she also runs Sonas Lisburn, a refill grocer, café and events space. It's because Julie, and her church believe in being salt and light to the business and commercial life of their city.

Commission has sadly lost another founding member, Artie Hoyle, who died recently. Our sincere condolences to his family circle. Our Head of Programmes, Colm Flanagan, writes:

"Artie was involved with Commission right from the start, when he became the first Commission Treasurer, looking after the sum of £30.00! He then moved on to be one of the
Audio Technology group. In 1980, Artie took on the big job of putting in the electricity at the new Millar Street studio. He agreed to become a Trustee in 2001.

As well as this, he was a keen yachtsman, and sailed to the Western Isles with me as rookie crew and cook. As in everything he did, he was a very good skipper.

After Covid Artie had been afflicted with a heart issue and in recent months he was rarely at meetings, though his desire to help Commission still remained.

We will miss him but he is now with His Saviour.

The entire Commission team was saddened to hear of the death of one of our founding members, Noel Speers. Noel had been there right from the start in 1975, driving forward a vision for accessible Radio Bible Drama made to the highest standards. Noel was a huge influence in Commission, writing producing, deputising, encouraging, and showing everyone else on the team just what could be done. His work was broadcast around the world for decades.

Commission has had many adventures over the years, but Radio Bible Drama has remained at the centre of what we do, long after Noel was no longer able to be a part of it. We love this photo of him sharing his wisdom, not long after we opened our current suite of studios in Dundonald.

After some years of ill health, Noel went home peacefully to the God he loved and served ,in July 2026.. Our condolences to Muriel, John and Honor and the wider family circle.
