πŸŽ‰ We’re thrilled to celebrate an outstanding evening at the Northern Ireland Learning Disability & Autism Awards!

We are incredibly proud to share that Informing Choices has been recognised across three categories, reflecting the depth and impact of our work.

πŸ† Employer Award – Winner
Informing Choices was awarded the Employer Award in recognition of our ongoing commitment to accessible health information, inclusive practice, and our work across the learning disability and autism sector. Through our Just Ask project, training programmes, and advocacy work, we continue to place the rights of individuals with a learning disability and autistic people at the centre of everything we do.

πŸ† Senior Managers Award – Winner
Our CEO, Mark Breslin, received the Senior Managers Award. This recognises his long-standing commitment to ensuring people with a learning disability and autistic people have equal access to accurate, accessible health information and services, and that their rights remain central to service development and delivery.

πŸ’œ Making a Difference Award – Highly Commended
We are also delighted that our Menopause Project was Highly Commended in the Making a Difference category. This innovative programme supports people with a learning disability and autistic people through an often-overlooked area of health, providing accessible information, education, and practical support to help individuals navigate menopause with confidence.

These achievements reflect the dedication, passion, and collaboration of the entire Informing Choices team, and our shared commitment to supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people to have their rights, voices, and health needs fully recognised.

We were out in East Belfast today helping to spread the word about our upcoming workshops, happening next Thursday!

Our team visited local cafΓ©s, hairdressers, GP surgeries, pharmacies, community centres, the library and even a local pub to drop off flyers and chat with people about the sessions.

A big thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with us and display our information, it really helps us reach more people across the community.

If you're based in East Belfast, you might spot one of our flyers while you're out and about πŸ‘€

Good news. The Birds, the Bees and the Fleadh is happening.

This August, we'll be bringing a series of free events to Belfast exploring relationships, s*x and everything in between through film, music, conversation and creativity.

Think folk songs, movie nights, creative workshops, unexpected conversations and plenty of opportunities to get involved.

We'll be sharing the full programme soon. For now, we're just delighted to have been selected for support through Belfast City Council Bank of Ideas programme.

Our Special Educational Needs teachers forum reconvened on Friday morning, bringing together 20 schools across Northern Ireland to share ideas, experience and best practice in Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE).

The session focused on RSE policy development and resource production.

The level of engagement, openness and collaboration throughout the morning highlighted the value of creating space for schools to share resources and practical approaches to delivering high-quality RSE. It was particularly encouraging to hear how these discussions are already helping to build confidence and shape practice within schools.

We look forward to continuing these important conversations and supporting ongoing collaboration across the network in the months ahead.
