🧠💜

Today, on Brain Tumour Awareness Day (8th June), we stand together to raise awareness and to support everyone whose lives have been touched by a brain tumor diagnosis.

In Northern Ireland, an average of around 409 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour each year, including both cancerous and non-cancerous tumours. Brain tumours can affect anyone, at any age, and every diagnosis brings challenges for patients, families, friends and carers.

Today is also a time to remember and honour the loved ones, friends and family members who are no longer with us. Their memory continues to inspire us to raise awareness, support one another, and push for better treatments and outcomes.

A special thank you to Brainwaves NI, Northern Ireland's only volunteer-led brain tumour research and support charity, for the incredible work they do supporting patients and families while funding vital local research.

Through awareness, support and research, there is hope for a brighter future. 💜
