Consent, healthy relationships and sexuality are extremely important. So, we have organised an educational workshop for young people aged 11-24.

The workshop is run by Relate NI and partnered with Nexus and The Rainbow Project.

“The Relationships and Sexuality Education programme is an age-appropriate, sex-positive, LGBTQ+ inclusive programme for young people aged between 11 and 24.”

We want everyone to feel comfortable with who they are and we want our skate community to be more inclusive and open to everyone. The skate community is far from perfect, but a willingness to change and learn about each other, as well as about ourselves is a big step in the right direction.

A massive thank you to Belfast Child CIC for providing the venue, they have been kind enough to offer their space for the workshop and provide food and refreshments!

The food is free but we encourage donations, however small, to Belfast Child CIC for their generosity and kindness.

CHILD Training Academy is a registered charity that aims to empower our local communities through the introduction of accessible sports initiatives across Belfast. They want to "unlock the potential of our youth, whilst promoting and sustaining healthier, fitter and unified communities."

Their space is right next to Bridges Skatepark:
1ST Floor, 44-46 Corporation St, Belfast BT1 3DE

The event takes place on Saturday the 19th of February at 2pm in the Belfast Child Training Academy space.

We were contacted by the BID/Belfast City Council in regard to the use of skate spots around the city, in particular the new spot on Adelaide Street.

Anti-skate architecture was suggested, but they instead want to have conversations to find positive solutions for the space.

If we help each other look after the spaces we use now, we can pave the way forward for more.

MEET THE SKATERS event in celebration of GOOD RELATIONS WEEK

This is an opportunity for beginners or new skaters to get to know the local heads a bit.

We understand it can be quite intimidating coming down to Bridges, so this event is for you to get to know everyone in a safe, inclusive environment. If you want to try out skating for the first time we have some skateboards for you to try out!

Come on down, get involved, have a bit of craic and go skate!
