Bog Meadows Nature Reserve - Ulster Wildlife Follow to keep track of Ulster Wildlife's 'Our People, Our Places’ project at Bog Meadows Nature R

Ulster Wildlife manages Bog Meadows Nature Reserve for both people and wildlife to enjoy. Over the next four years, we will be working to create a vibrant community hub centred on Bog Meadows Nature Reserve and neighbouring St James Community Farm, through 'Our People, Our Places' project funded by National Lottery Community Fund. The project will help strengthen social networks, develop skills and build community capacity by offering traineeships and a range of volunteering, events and education programmes based around nature, conservation, animal husbandry and gardening.

Delighted to welcome some beautiful Belties (Belted Galloway) to the Bog Meadows today. These lovely Scottish rare breed cows, were bred for hardiness and are used to living in wet lowlands, so they should feel right at home here.
They will graze the meadows over the next few months to allow the continued improvement to biodiversity there, improving the environment for the meadowflowers to return next summer. If you see them do enjoy watching them, but please ensure all dogs are kept on a lead at this time in the nature reserve.
Thank you.
