This morning David remarked...β€œMy heart is both deeply saddened and yet filled with joy and praise to God.”

It is saddened, of course, by the ongoing killing of Christian villagers by extremist Muslims, openly supported by ISIS-affiliated groups, in the area where we work. This is an unimaginably violent and evil situation in which many hundreds of innocent people have been massacred. During my recent visit, I witnessed first-hand the devastating impact these atrocities have on individual lives, particularly among young women and children. The stories I heard and the suffering I encountered will remain with me for a long time.

Please help us show love, demonstrate kindness, facilitate education, make change in the lives of those that need it, empower us to bring Jesus Christ into the lives of those living in the DRC. We need your support and prayers! πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

This Lord's Day our Chief Executive, David McAllister MBE, had the pleasure to speak at two churches. Markethill Presbyterian Church and Cladymore Presbyterian Church. Rev Norman Smyth very kindly give Congo Initiative the opportunity to share to the congregation our mission, vision, ambition and stories of David's recent trip and his childhood growing up in the Congo.

We are extremely grateful and blessed to have a platform to share the great work of Congo Initiative and the 1000s of Congolese students and their families who are receiving life changing education, counselling and faith based and Christ-centred support and guidance. πŸ™

Our Chief Executive Officer - David McAllister MBE, discusses his return visit to the DRC and UCBC as part of a strategic management and planning visit. Equipping Women in Sustainable Agriculture Practices 🌱

In partnership with Tearfund, CI-UCBC hosted a training workshop for women in local churches focused on sustainable agriculture as a way to address food insecurity and strengthen community resilience. Participants received practical instruction in effective farming techniques, soil management, and crop cultivation practices that can improve yields and support long-term food production. This work is especially important as many families across eastern Congo continue to face instability, displacement, and rising hunger, making reliable access to nutritious food increasingly difficult for local communities.
