Justice for Disabled and Additional Needs Children in NI NI Campaign to end injustice, inaction, discrimination and hate towards disabled and all children in the Education, Health and Social Sector

We built an educational system that places the burden of enforcing a child’s civil rights on the very families already drowning under the weight of their child’s unmet needs and the damage caused by the school’s failure. And when those families cannot carry that burden, the child’s rights collapse with them.

Lots of words but no meaningful action.

The reality in NI is that there are ZERO pathways for people suffering these abuses to be heard, to access justice or protection.

Meaningful change could happen immediately, but that would mean professionals facing accountability and NI refuses to work that way.

Suffer on … because that’s our reality.

But truth be told this is still happening now. When are disabled people, parents of disabled children going to be believed and protected.

This systemic bullying and targeting parents and disabled people cannot be allowed to continue.

Will our representatives meaningfully engage in a rigourous and transparent way to stop this rot in our education and health systems.

The Muckamore Abbey report lays bare a profound catalogue of failures against some of the most vulnerable people in our society. This is a scandal of neglect, and it happened on the watch of those who were paid to protect people.

A policy of moving patients into community care was never matched with the investment needed to make it safe. That is the rotten logic of an underfunded system, where decisions are made on the basis of cost. The residents of Muckamore and their families deserved so much better.

106 recommendations can't be left to gather dust. We have seen report after report laid before the Assembly, and too often nothing changes. There can be no delay and side-stepping of responsibility.

Over the years, I have in been in contact with several Muckamore families. They have tirelessly fought for years to expose the truth. It was CCTV footage - not the Trust's own reporting and safeguarding systems - that finally revealed it. The closed culture that silenced concerns must be torn out by the roots.

This can never be allowed to happen again. The Health Minister must act immediately, and those responsible in positions of power and authority must be held fully to account.

If this isn’t a disability hate crime against vulnerable children I don’t know what is.

But still … no one will provide access to justice for these victims.

Page 81 …. There is no pathway or access to justice in NI for disability hate crimes against Children or Adults or their carers.

Zero accountability
Zero consequences
Zero change

Only continued and intentional direct discrimination, harassment, victimisation, rights breaches, suffering, harm, mental and physical torture for disabled people, disabled children and any parents who try to advocate.

If you try to stand up for yourself you experience the gang/cult mentality … you get targeted, lied about (why do professionals act this way) defamed, harassed, threatened, intimidated, harmed any way they can inflict it.

They rely on exhausting you, like predators.

But everyone seems quite happy to turn a blind eye to it happening.
