Calling all community and voluntary organisations across Belfast

Many community and voluntary organisations encounter immigration issues, even where this is not their main area of work. To help organisations respond confidently to these queries, Law Centre NI has partnered with Belfast City Council to provide free training on asylum and refugee rights through our Welcome Information Programme.

The training is suitable both for organisations already supporting refugees and people seeking asylum, as well as for those with little or no previous experience of these matters.

Advice Changes Lives: Challenging the Misuse of Asylum Withdrawal Procedures

After escaping domestic abuse, our client, 'Azeeza ', found that her asylum claim was treated as "withdrawn" because her husband had been treated as the lead client. This left her at risk of immigration enforcement and without any entitlement to financial support.
