A lovely walk yesterday in Margate! As always, started hectic with the scramble for car parking, but we then set off along the coastline up to Botany Bay!

Big thank you to everyone that came along, was lovely to see some repeat walkers and new ones!

Also a shoutout to Connor for again saving the day with some pics of the walks!

Just a week away until our upcoming walk!

The start time of the walk is 11am on Saturday 15th August, meeting at Margate Train Station πŸš‚

Trains coming from from Canterbury/Faversham and Ramsgate will be arriving just after 11am for those coming via public transport (we will wait, don’t worry)πŸš‚

There is also plenty of parking available at the train station that is also decently priced 😊

Looking forward to meeting you all soon and having a fun ramble along the coastline of Margate πŸ–οΈ

πŸŒΏπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ Our Next Q***r Walks Event! πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸŒΏ

I am happy to share that the next Q***rWalks event will take place on Saturday 15th August! This time, we will be exploring from Margate along the coastal paths to Botany Bay, and then return along the same route to also visit the Turner πŸ–ΌοΈ

πŸ“ Starting point: Margate Train Station. There is plenty of paid parking at the station, but for those coming via public transport, there are good links to Margate across much of Kent!

πŸ¦€ First stop: Walpole Bay where you can walk alongside one of Kent’s last remaining seawater lidos that is also great for rock-pooling

🌱 Second stop: Botany Bay where we will walk alongside the clifftops (unfortunately, tide timings aren’t in our favour to explore the beach)!

πŸ–ΌοΈ Third stop: The Turner Contemporary to browse the local art scene at whatever speed suits you

πŸ¦€ Final stop: For anyone that would like to see a local hidden gem, we’ll also be doing a pitstop at the Crab Museum before heading home!

The important bits:

πŸ“… Date: Saturday 15th August

πŸ₯Ύ Distance: ~6.2 miles

⏱ Time: Around 3 hours walking at a relaxed pace and to account for the short break at the midpoint. However, as this one will have two extra excursions to the Turner and Crab Museum, people are welcome to leave if they’ve already been!

Please note: whilst this walk will be mostly along the paved/semi-paved coastal paths, it’s still recommended to bring appropriate footwear for a medium length walk

If you would like to come along, please join our WhatsApp group or message directly, and please do share if you or anyone you may know may be interested 😊

We got so swept up in talking that we may have forgotten to take any pics (thanks Connor for saving the day)!

Another fantastic walk smashed!

The weather, once again, played nicely for us and we had a beautiful stroll along the coastline of Tankerton. Nature came out to play too - with lots of caterpillars, birds, and a friendly lizard all coming to say hi πŸ‘‹πŸ»

Thanks again to all that came - hope to see you again soon!
