Beer is a beautiful fishing village in East Devon and often called Devon’s best kept secret!

It’s been a Beerbaydos summer and its not over yet, but we love this photo that has been shared by Cassie Plowright … such an amazing photo from out on the water 🥰

This spot is accessible by kayak or stand up paddle board, but do make sure you’re prepared and before you go, check you have:

Personal flotation device - to help keep you afloat if you enter the water

Fully charged mobile phone - kept in a waterproof pouch so you can call for help

Personal locator beacon - useful if you lose mobile signal

Equipment labels - label your paddleboard, kayak and other watersports kit, so the Coastguard can check you're safe if it's found

Also always check for offshore winds before you set off as these can blow you out to see very quickly. In an emergency, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

And now for something completely different … yesterday we were on a walk round the farm on Beer Head. Here we are with Rick and his sheepdog, Lucy, rounding up the adolescent lambs … apparently typical teenagers … headstrong, not thinking and just going!

The Buggies in Beer is a real highlight of the calendar in May when over 30 colourful buggies tour the local area and park on the Jubilee so we can see them close up and chat to the drivers.

Nigel Worth has shared his favourite buggy brilliantly and captured the boats on the beach as the backdrop!

This glorious photo was taken by Joanna Beckett during an evening swim from a few weeks ago. The sky is just an incredible kaleidoscope of orange and the sea is so calm, it must have been magical!
