What did your granny say, or do, that no one ever explained?
Silver pressed into a new baby's hand. Salt thrown over your shoulder. A charm for warts. A horseshoe above the door. Never new shoes on the table.
When people were accused of witchcraft, much of what they knew went with them. But not all of it was lost. It lives on in the traditions, superstitions, sayings, charms and lucky things passed down in families and communities, often without anyone knowing why.
Tell us yours in the comments.
Step by step, walk by walk, we are going to find it again. We begin in Selkirk this Samhain.
