✨ Got a creative idea? Wondering how to make it a reality? Want to organise a project for your local community?

🎯Join our 'Make it Happen!' series of free sessions where you can get advice on different aspects of producing creative activities. The series starts on 1st July with a speed-dating style networking session and ends on 3rd September with a session on how to apply for our new Producer Hub programme.

🌍As part of Refugee Week this week, members of the Bedford migrant and refugee communities are invited to anonymously contribute a story to 'Sharing Stories' project.

✨To start the project off, will be running a story gathering and origami cranes workshop where participants can drop in and share a brief story. This can be written or drawn, and in any language, on a piece of origami paper and folded into a crane. Stories can be anything from a song or poem to a memory from home or a memorable moment or person.
As the project progresess, the stories and cranes will become part of installations, performance pieces and artwork.

📅Workshop date: Wednesday 17th June
📍Location: 1st Floor, Bedford Central Library, Harpur Street, Bedford.
🕗Time: 11am – 4pm

Stories can also be dropped into the ‘Sharing Stories’ boxes that are located at BRASS Bedfordshire Refugee & Asylum Seeker Support (27b Tavistock Street, Bedford) and The Higgins Bedford (Castle Lane, Bedford).

Hey you! Don't forget to sign up to our next Creative Exchange session 'Working with Bedford Prison - Part 2'.

We got some great feedback from the creatives who attended the first session at HMP Bedford but it's not a prerequisite for Part 2!

Come along and discuss ideas for creative projects in collaboration with Bedford prison and explore how these projects could support offenders' rehabilitation. Open to all artforms!

🌟Excited to share that our Director, Elaine Midgley, has been invited to be on the National Selection panel for The Artist Prize – a new, open submission art prize, open to artists from all over the UK regardless of their background and artform.

Elaine will be scoring submissions online alongside curators from across the country, with the top 20 selected works will be exhibited at Firstsite Colchester, a leading contemporary art gallery.

🎉The winner is announced in March 2027 and wins a £30,000 prize plus a solo show at Firstsite.

👉Submissions are now open until the final closing date on 8th July 2026.
