Our residents have the privacy of their own accommodation, combined with the companionship of others and the security and support of the house staff. The aim of the house is “To enhance the quality of life for older people” which is the Abbeyfield Mission.Residents enjoy being able to sit in our small conservatory and look out on to the pretty garden and watch the array of birds that come to the f
eeders. Charges are fully inclusive of two meals a day, utility bills and council tax. Most rooms come with a new fitted kitchen area. All are unfurnished so that you can bring your own furniture and make it a real home from home. All resident have the benefit of a neck alarm and there is an alarm call system fitted in their rooms for emergencies. The Staff enjoy preparing meals for the residents and try to serve a nutritious, well balanced menu. Making it look as attractive as possible. The house can cater for diabetics, celiac and residents with allergies and understand residents likes and dislikes offering an alternative menu. Meals include good home cooked food such as shepherds pie, steak and kidney pudding and fish and chips. More adventurous residents can enjoy an Indian curry or Chinese sweet and sour. Residents are regularly consulted with the menu and on birthdays they get to choose their favourite meal. Food is sourced locally and small shops are supported by Abbeyfield. Fresh fish is on the menu most weeks and this comes from the picturesque town of Southwold home of Adnams Ales which is only a 45 minutes drive away. Tea time meals include cheese on toast, cheese and biscuits, scrambled eggs and freshly made sandwiches.
