This weekend saw Corporal Woods-Andrews attend the National Cadet Sergeants Board.

We are incredibly pleased and proud to announce that he has passed and promoted to Cadet Sergeant!!!

Cadet Sergeant Woods-Andrews portrays not only the Sea Cadet Values to the highest standard, but also those of the Royal Marines.

He is pictured delivering his lecturette!

Hoofing effort!

One very proud Detachment Commander!

🩹 Day One: Completed.
Casualties (Simulated): Alive.
Cupcakes: Questionable.

What a day! The staff and cadets of Beccles & Lowestoft Sea Cadets have officially survived Day One of our Advanced First Aid / First Aid at Work course.

We covered the essentials of saving a life: CPR, the Primary and Secondary Surveys, the Recovery Position, and managing various types of catastrophic bleeds. Our cadets and staff jumped into action, proving that when the pressure is on, they have the focus, calm, and skills needed to step up in a real crisis.
..Which is great, because their childcare and cupcake-making skills today showed we might need to stick to emergency medicine. 🤦‍♂️🧁

While we learned how to bandage a wound perfectly, we also learned that frosting a cupcake apparently requires a hazmat suit, and "babysitting" according to some of our team looks suspiciously like a drill sergeant ordering a toddler to "stand at ease."

⚓ The Serious Side
All jokes about baking disasters aside, we couldn't be prouder. First aid is a core life skill. The confidence our cadets and staff are gaining this weekend means they aren't just ready to serve their community - they are ready to save a life if the moment ever demands it.

Huge shoutout to everyone for their energy, focus, and willingness to learn (and bleed on each other for practice).

Bring on Day Two! 🚑💪

⛵ Area Sailing Regatta Success! ⛵
A huge congratulations to our cadets who represented the unit at today's Area Sailing Competition.
We are incredibly proud to announce that our team achieved:

🥇 Gold Medal – Topper Class
🥈 Silver Medal – RS Quest Class
🥉 Bronze Medal – Pico Class

These results are a testament to the hard work, dedication and determination shown by our cadets both on and off the water. Competing against some of the best sailors from across the area, they demonstrated excellent seamanship, sportsmanship and resilience throughout the day.

A big thank you to the staff, volunteers and Thrapston boat station who made the event possible, and well done to all competitors who took part.
And a thanks to both CI Huttons for training and transporting them on the day!
⚓ Beccles & Lowestoft Sea Cadets continue to make us proud! ⚓

Well done.
A proud Commanding Officer.

Another DOFE post... this time celebrating and thanking our amazing CFAVs and supporters.

A massive thank you to all our fantastic staff who supported the expedition - whether helping to plan, executing or visiting during the week - all of the support would have not made it such a huge success! Sorry didn't pictures of all of you!

A massive thank you to all of the parents who supported as well!

And finally, a massive thank you to the campsites we used - amazing facilities and even better hospitality!

Duke of Edinburgh Expedition - completed it mate!

Huge congratulations to our Gold and Silver group who have absolutely smashed their expedition this week. They overcame obstacles, dug down deep and kept going throughout.

We are immensely proud of each and everyone of you!

Enjoy the rest of your half-term and for many of these cadets, back to GCSE revision.

I'm sure all will sleep well tonight, I know I will!

DOFE groups are go!

Up, packed, eaten and all aboard ready for another glorious days expedition. Thankfully a cooler one too.

A brief rain spell in the night and apparently a few rumbles of thunder haven't put a damper on spirits this morning!

Next stop: Reedham!
