Alexander Jansons Myocarditis UK Alexander Jansons Myocarditis UK was formed following the death of Alexander Jansons from Myocarditis in July 2013 he was 18 years old.

We aim to raise awareness for this inflammatory heart condition and to raise money for continued medical research. We want to create awareness of Myocarditis not only to the public but to general medical practitioners, A and E centres and medical personal.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the Jansons Rowing Cup 2026 such a success.

From the organisers and sponsors to the rowers, volunteers and supporters, every person involved played a part in raising awareness and funds for Myocarditis UK.

Events like these demonstrate the power of community, partnership and shared purpose. The funds raised will help us continue supporting patients and families, funding research and increasing understanding of myocarditis across the UK.

Five years ago, Emil never imagined he would be taking part in a fundraising challenge like this.

After becoming seriously ill with myocarditis at just 25 years old, he faced a difficult road to recovery.

Today, he's healthy, active and raising funds to help others affected by the condition.

At just 25 years old, Emil became seriously ill with myocarditis.

After facing a challenging recovery journey, Emil is now fully recovered and has chosen to give back by fundraising for Myocarditis UK through a baton relay challenge.

We're incredibly grateful that Emil is sharing his story and helping us raise awareness of myocarditis while supporting our work to fund research, provide support and educate more people about this condition.

Next week, UK businesses are swapping desks for oars as we hit the water for the Jansons Rowing Cup. Teams have been training hard, finding their focus, and getting ready to compete head-to-head to raise vital funds for Myocarditis UK.

Myocarditis is a sudden and devastating inflammation of the heart muscle, often striking young, healthy individuals without warning.

By coming together on the water, the goal of everyone involved is to fund life-saving medical research, raise awareness, and support families affected by this condition.

Every stroke taken is driven by this vital cause.
