Barefoot Opera returns to Battle Festival next month with Cosi fan tutte?!

Nature or nurture? Are women like that? Experience Barefoot Opera’s fresh new take on Mozart and Da Ponte’s effervescent comedy Cosi fan tutte?!

Sunday 12 July Abbot’s Hall, Battle Abbey

Barefoot Opera, known for lively ensemble theatre and first rate classical singing, creates a version of Cosi fan Tutte for ten young singers in or just graduating from the top London music conservatories.

Fully staged, with a small band, sung in Italian with surtitles, and family friendly too – definitely as good for an opera newbie as for an experienced opera buff.

TICKET NOW ON SALE for ‘Why Macbeth?’ presented by Bowler Crab Theatre Company

Friday 24th July 7.30pm at Battle Memorial Hall

www.battlefestival.co.uk/events/why-macbeth-bowler-crab-theatre-company/

Macbeth is one of Shakespeare’s most renowned plays – the magic, the blood, the prophecy, the madness
– but the question is: ‘Why?’

With the performance punctuated with personable interjections, Stephen John performs parts of the play whilst exploring the influences of legendary myths, the real history of Scotland, the understanding of magic, the reality of spirits and Shakespeare’s own historical writing context; all to endeavour to discover what makes Macbeth in particular a play ‘for all time’.
