DID YOU KNOW.........
Modern Freemasonry, can be traced back to the late 16th and early 17th centuries, emerging from the guilds of stonemasons who built the great cathedrals and castles of medieval Europe.
These guilds gradually evolved into speculative lodges, no longer centered on the craft of masonry but instead focused on moral philosophy, self-improvement, and fellowship.
Freemasonry is one of the largest and oldest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations in the world and still holds relevance in modern day society by offering a sense of structure and community, particularly for those seeking a space for reflection, moral discourse, and fellowship outside of traditional religious or civic institutions.
Howley Lodge was founded in 1928 and has met continuously at Blenheim House, Batley ever since. Our members come from all walks of life and meet as equals, whatever their race or religion.
We meet informally every Wednesday at 7pm apart from every second Wednesday of the month where we meet for our formal evening followed by dinner.
Our values are based on kindness, charity and integrity.
If you are interested in charity, history or seek like minded friendship and would like to be a part of our ever-growing organisation please contact our
