The Bulldogs suffered their first defeat of the season, to a clinical Rochdale Hornets.
The Bulldogs took an early lead after Jamie Edmondson-Jones and Paul Horrobin picked up back to back tries. The experienced Hornets hit back with a converted try of their own, but James Clough converted his own try to extend the Bulldogs lead further.
Rochdale, the 2025 Grand Finalists, got on a role with Kyran Holt right in the middle of the action for them, making great ground and setting up tries for Scotland international speedster, Callum Young.
Batley got their groove back at the beginning of the second half, with a converted Joel Dyer try. From then, it was one-way traffic for the majority of the half, with Rochdale totting up a 47-20 lead into the 70th minute.
The Bulldogs never say die attitude was still in abundance, but further tries from Adam Bingham and Dyer weren't enough to catch up, and the Bulldogs finished 30-47 to the Hornets.
Adam Bingham picked up his 4th POTM award of the season.
The Bulldogs Wheelchair Rugby League Reserves continued their excellent start to the season, with a solid victory against a strong Rochdale side.
A dominant first-half saw tries for Nathan McAllister-Wood, James Spears and Tommy Hambleton, to give the Bulldogs a 16-0 lead at half-time.
The second half was more of the same. Rhys picked up his POTM award after he directed the Bulldogs superbly from his pivot position, picking up a try of his own and making another each for Hambleton and Spears.
