TCD has been awarded funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to support our work in the community.

This funding will help us continue providing vital mental health, wellbeing and community support, enabling us to reach more people and continue making a positive difference across Kirklees.

💙 Supporting Mental Health Across Kirklees 💙

At TCD Mental Health Charity, we believe that no one should have to face life’s challenges alone. We offer a range of free, welcoming support groups designed to improve mental wellbeing, reduce isolation and help people build confidence through connection, movement, peer support and lived experience.

Our current programmes include:

💙 Luke’s Lads Update 💙

Another fantastic evening at Luke’s Lads last night!

Everyone got involved in our movement and cardio session before sitting down for a really open and honest discussion about stress and burnout. The conversation naturally led to talking about family values, mental health, and the importance of supporting one another.

These conversations remind us that no one has to face life’s challenges alone. Every session provides a safe, welcoming space to move, talk, listen, and connect.

Well… let’s just say the weather had other ideas today! The wind at Wakefield Armed Forces Day in Pontefract Park certainly gave our gazebo (and our hairstyles!) a run for their money, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Luke’s Lads Veterans crew!

Despite feeling like we might end up in the next county, we had a brilliant day spreading the word about our Luke’s Lads Veterans sessions and meeting some fantastic people along the way.

A huge shout-out to our incredible volunteers who proudly took on the Luke’s Lads Veterans Tug of War challenge. You were absolute legends! Win, lose or get dragged through the grass… the camaraderie, banter and team spirit were second to none. That’s what it’s all about!

Thank you to everyone who stopped for a chat, supported us, and helped make the day another memorable one. Same team, same laughs… maybe just a little less wind next time!

🇬🇧 We’re at Wakefield Armed Forces Day this Saturday! 🇬🇧

Come along and see the TCD Luke’s Lads Veterans team this Saturday from 10:00am at Pontefract Park for a fantastic day celebrating our Armed Forces community.

💪 Think you’ve got what it takes? Have a go at our Squat Challenge!

🏆 Cheer on Luke’s Lads Veterans as they take part in the Tug of War – they’ll be giving it everything, so come and show your support!

We’ll also be there to chat about the support, activities and opportunities available through TCD Luke’s Lads Veterans. Whether you’re a veteran, serving member of the Armed Forces, a family member, or simply want to find out more, we’d love to meet you.

There’ll be entertainment, displays, family activities and plenty to enjoy throughout the day.

💙 Luke’s Lads – Every Tuesday at Jo Cox House, Batley 💙

Another positive evening with the lads this week.

Everyone took part in the workout, with exercises adapted to suit different abilities and comfort levels, helping everyone get involved at their own pace.

As always, the conversation was just as important as the exercise. This week’s discussions included:
💬 Work and unemployment
💬 Family
💬 Coping with the loss of a loved one

Luke’s Lads is a welcoming space where men can improve both their physical and mental wellbeing, connect with others, and know they’re not alone.
