๐ŸŽ‰ Itโ€™s the start of Volunteersโ€™ Week 2026! ๐ŸŽ‰

From today until the 7th June, weโ€™re celebrating the incredible people who give their time, skills and kindness to support others and strengthen communities ๐Ÿ’™

A huge thank you to all volunteers across West Lothian! Your impact does not go unnoticed. Whether you give an hour a week or years of dedication, you make a real difference every single day.

Keep an eye on our social media channels throughout the week as we shine a spotlight on volunteering, celebrate amazing contributions, and share inspiring stories from across West Lothian.

๐Ÿ† Weโ€™re also looking forward to hosting our West Lothian Volunteer Awards this Thursday, where weโ€™ll come together to recognise and celebrate the outstanding efforts of volunteers in our communities.

Do you have a couple of hours on a Thursday afternoon? We need more volunteers to help give out food parcels, and we need extra help in our community garden. Contact us for further details: [email protected]

We are encouraging all Bathgate Residents and all Bathgate Businesses to respond to the PARKING Survey from WLC..

We back the Community Councils stance Yes to Enforcement No to Charges

West Lothian Council is consulting on proposals to introduce Decriminalised Parking Enforcement (DPE) across the West Lothian area. ๐Ÿ‘‡
DPE could potentially give the council responsibility for parking enforcement on public roads and car parks helping to improve road safety, keep traffic moving, and support fair and consistent parking controls in communities. Any income generated would be reinvested into local roads and infrastructure. Currently only Police Scotland can issue fines for car parking.
๐Ÿ—“ The consultation is open now and will close on Friday 3 July 2026. We want to hear from as many people that live and work in our towns and villages and also visitors to the West Lothian area that use our roads and our existing parking facilities. Your views will help us to shape how parking enforcement could work in West Lothian in the future.
Please take a few minutes to share your views and help inform the councilโ€™s future car parking enforcement decisions.
๐Ÿ‘‰ You can take part in the consultation by clicking on the link in the comments ๐Ÿ‘‡ If you are unable to access the consultation online, you can attend your local CIS office or Library to participate.
