“Inspirational IceBreakers”

Glenn (left) has been with us for over 5 years now. A keen cold water swimmer and a great IceBreaker personality. He has always wanted to swim from Dundas to our home at Warleigh Weir (2.4km). However he’s never felt confident to do so.

Last year another Icebreaker - Tom did a charity swim, swimming the route every Sunday morning for 5 consecutive weeks totalling over 10km!

This year Tom has upped his challenge and is hoping to swim 25km to raise funds for

Taking inspiration from Tom, Glen overcame his fears and joined Tom on his swim this morning!

Another great example of our supportive and inspirational community.

Well done Glen and wishing Tom all the best in his challenge 🙌 👊

You’ve probably asked yourself this question before.

You’re about to step outside of your comfort zone, grab your swim bag & hop in the car on a Sunday morning to try IceBreakers for yourself.

But what should you really expect when you get there? 20 people? 4? Nobody?

Truth is, like the river, it ebbs & flows. The weather is an indicator, but not as much as you’d think.

First clear & sunny morning in a month of rain? Yeah, there’ll be double digits ready to dip.

But on that stark, crisp, frosty morning when your bed is calling you’ll still find 6, 8, maybe 12 of our members with warm smiles and determined faces, keen to reset in water so cold it stings.

That’s how this community works.

Together, on good and not-so-good days.
