Our story

Greenhill House is set in extensive grounds in the peaceful village of Timsbury, in Somerset. Our home is close to a range of useful local amenities and we’re only a short distance from Bath, famous for its architecture, museums, and Roman baths.

We also organise regular trips including to the theatre, the cinema, bowling, museums and sports events. As part of our person-centred approach we often arrange other activities specifically for individuals. In addition, Greenhill House is home to the Boccia England Registered Club: boccia is a Paralympic sport similar to boules, developed specifically for disabled people to play.

We also like to hold events at the home, including coffee mornings, fêtes and fundraisers. The money raised helps to give our residents a better quality of life by being able to get out and about and to pursue different hobbies and activities.

We have a Greenhill House Orchid Project developed with the residents and tailored to the their needs. In order for the project to be self-funding and sustainable residents will grow and sell orchid species from tropical and rain cloud forests, also growing, selling and displaying orchid and plant species from tropical Asia, Central and South America. The project will have open days for the public to view, learn and buy plants cultivated by the residents.
