🐾 We’ve had a lovely update from Pingu’s adopter, and it sounds like this sweet girl is settling into her new home wonderfully!

Pingu was a little nervous when she first arrived, particularly around her adopter’s husband and son, but it didn’t take her long to find her confidence. She’s now happily exploring the house and working out which are her favourite spots.

Although she still uses her settling-in room as her safe base, Pingu clearly prefers to be wherever her family are. Whether she’s playing with them or simply sleeping nearby, she loves being part of the action 🥰

She’s eating and drinking well, has had no problems with her litter trays and, of course, is a big fan of Dreamies! 😻

Pingu is also very interested in the outside world and loves watching through the windows and patio doors. She’s even discovered that she has a rather impressive talent for catching flies! 🪰😂

It’s wonderful to hear how much progress she has already made and how quickly she is becoming comfortable in her new home 💙

A huge thank you to Pingu’s adopter for sending us this update and giving her the time, patience and love she needed to settle in.

🐾 Meet Len and discover how you could make a difference too!

For Len, volunteering with Bath Cats & Dogs Home has been about so much more than giving his time. It’s about meeting people, learning new skills, keeping busy and, most importantly, helping cats and dogs in need.

Len has been volunteering with us for many years and now spends two days a week at our George Street charity shop. From helping customers and sorting donations to repairing donated items and taking on maintenance jobs, there’s always something different to get involved with.

And Len’s advice to anyone thinking about volunteering?

👉 You don’t need loads of spare time.
👉 You don’t need to have done it before.
👉 You just need to be willing to get involved and give something a go.

Even a few hours a week can make a real difference 🐶🐱

Check the Chip Day: a few minutes that could make a big difference 🐾

Do you know whether your pet’s microchip details are up to date?

A microchip can help a lost pet be reunited with their family, but it’s important that the chip is registered and that your contact details are kept current.

For , why not take a few minutes to check?

🐶 Not sure whether your pet is microchipped? Your vet can scan them and find their microchip number.
🐱 Once you have the number, you can check which database the chip is registered with.
🐾 Check that your name, address, telephone number and other contact details are correct.
💙 If anything has changed, make sure you update the details with the relevant database.

Moving house or changing your phone number can be easy to remember in most places but updating your pet's microchip details can sometimes get overlooked.

A small check today can give you extra peace of mind that, should your pet ever go missing, their chip can help connect them back to you.

A little Violet pupdate from her new home…

It sounds like Violet has been very busy making herself at home!

Her journey home was nice and calm, and once she arrived, her new family took things slowly, giving her plenty of time to meet her new pack and explore her new surroundings.

And then… she discovered the toy box.

Let’s just say the toys are now EVERYWHERE 😂

Violet has been proudly carrying her toys around the house and garden and has discovered that she absolutely loves a game of fetch. In fact, she loved it so much that her new family spent over two hours throwing balls and toys for her 💙

After all that excitement, she enjoyed a good dinner and then settled down for the night, curling up on the spare bed and cuddling into her new human like a little blanket.

The next day? More settling in, more exploring and, of course, finding the perfect spot on the sofa beside her new family.

It sounds like Violet has found exactly where she belongs.

We think Waffle and Pancake have definitely decided they’re home 🐾

These two little ones are settling beautifully into life with their forever family. They're discovering new toys, exploring their surroundings and, most importantly, finding all the very best spots for a good nap.

It’s lovely to see them feeling so comfortable and content in their new home 💙

When it’s too warm for a long walk, keeping your dog entertained can take a little imagination. And what better way to keep them busy than by putting their nose to work?

At this year’s Wag Walk, you can have a go at scentwork with FromeK9 Dog Training Ltd in our field activities.

Scentwork is a great way to get dogs thinking, using one of their most powerful senses to sniff out the answers. It’s also a fun way to add some enrichment to their day.

So, if your dog loves to sniff, explore and investigate absolutely everything, this could be right up their street.

💙 Happy tails for Hugo & Theo

These playful brothers have settled beautifully into their forever home. Their adopter says they're rarely far from her side, especially while she works, and love curling up together on their favourite chair 🪑

When they're not snuggling, they're racing around the house causing chaos and keeping everyone entertained! Best of all, they're incredibly affectionate and come running when called 🥹

We couldn't be happier for these two. Wishing Hugo & Theo a lifetime of love and adventures!
