Maggie sniffed out one of our beautifully decorated down in Midsomer Norton at the weekend. Have you found one yet?

Carers of all ages took some time to creatively design their own pebble, with a QR code on the reverse to help raise awareness of unpaid caring. The aim is to help people recognise and identify with their caring role, while also raising awareness of our local charity and the support we offer — helping us to continue being there for even more carers, whenever they need a listening ear, a helping hand or simply a shoulder to lean on.

Bath Pride was such a lovely, sunny day! 🌈

We met lots of young carers, spoke to so many people about unpaid caring, and even helped some recognise and identify their own caring role.

Joel and Anne also had an impromptu interview with Bath Sound, helping to raise the profile of unpaid caring — an added bonus!

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat. It was wonderful to meet you!

Many young carers have already have developed so many skills that don’t appear on a results sheet — resilience, responsibility, empathy, problem-solving, patience, independence and the ability to keep going when things are difficult.

Those are huge achievements.

So today, be proud of how far you’ve come. Celebrate what you’ve achieved, give yourself kindness if things haven’t gone the way you hoped, and remember that there is more than one path to where you want to go.

Keep believing in yourself. Keep reaching for your goals. Keep dreaming about your future.

Your story is only just beginning.

With the hosepipe ban coming into place within our region from Tuesday 18 August, it's a timely reminder to register with the 'Priority Service Register' if you are eligible.

This means you are exempt from some restrictions, and that is your supply is interrupted - your household will be considered a priority for restoration.

Find out if you are eligible and register if you are: https://www.wessexwater.co.uk/additional-support/priority-services

Remember - you can also join the Priority Service Register for your energy supplier too - but this must be done separately to the above - contact your energy supplier for details.

Our activities give young carers the chance to have fun, make friends and enjoy a break
from their caring role. Young carers support members of their family who need a little extra help, every day; they've earnt some time out.

With a small donation of £3, you can contribute to making those days out a little sweeter, while they make memories and create friendship bonds with other young carers.

Donate today, if you can: https://banescarerscentre.org.uk/donate -off
