What do we mean when we talk about climate migration?

At our next Beyond Bath conversation, we’ll explore how climate change, inequality and migration intersect — and what fair and inclusive climate solutions could look like in practice.

We’ll be joined by our panellists Dr Harry Hilser, Dr Alice Venn and Grace Wiltshire, who bring perspectives from environmental research, climate law and community action.

Together, we’ll explore questions such as:

• What is climate migration?
• Who is most affected, and why?
• Who makes decisions — and who is excluded?
• What is happening globally today?
• What could fair climate solutions look like?

Upcoming UK Asylum Changes (from 2026 onwards)

New proposals and policy changes to the UK asylum system may affect refugees and asylum seekers in the coming years.

To help our community understand these possible changes, we’ve created a simple guide explaining what may change, when, and what it could mean.

In this guide you will find information about:
• Possible shorter refugee protection periods
• Changes to the timeline for permanent residence
• Proposals that may allow more asylum seekers to work
• A pilot programme offering financial support for voluntary return
• Possible visa changes affecting some countries

⚠️ Some of these changes are still proposals and not yet final, but we want to make sure our community has clear and accessible information.

If you are worried about how these changes may affect you or your family, please contact us:
