Volunteering opportunities at the comes in many shapes and sizes, and some even include a dog! One of the wonderful things some of our volunteers do is bring in their specially trained therapy dogs to brighten up the day of patients, as well as staff and volunteers and to help support .

A can make huge difference to the hospital experience for patients or visitors. They are here to help and support people, get them to the place they need to be, ensure they have refreshments when they need something, make the gardens lovely and many more important activities.

Volunteers always tell us how much they get back and that's why so many have volunteered with the Friends for years, sometimes over a decade! So why not help us to help others.

During we're shining a light on some of our volunteers and the different roles they do.

Bryan is a volunteer in the Friends shop, but he also one of the champions who raise awareness and help people know how to recognise if someone might have hearing difficulties and what to do to support them.

At the Friends, all of our board of are volunteers, just like all of the sector, giving their time to help shape the strategic direction of the charity, ensure good governance and financial stability. Whatever the weather, the Friends in the has the spot for you. We have a wonderful outside area with shady and sunny spots, as well as a lovely inside area for people wishing to escape the .

The joy of the Friends is because we are a , whenever you come into our shop or café, the profit goes to the RUH to help support patients and those important to them. So why not pop in, get yourself something delicious to eat and know you're doing something good for patients at the same time.
